We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Head of Business Communications, Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB).
This role is focused on leading business communications for CIB on a global basis, aligned with CIB’s commercial priorities and the wider Communications Businesses and Markets strategy.
Based in London and reporting directly to the Head of Communications, CIB, the role holder has responsibility for delivering strategic communications advisory to Banking Europe and the Americas. It will also provide leadership of communications business partnering teams for CIB’s global business lines (Global Payments Solutions, Global Trade Solutions, Markets and Securities Services, HSBC Infrastructure Finance and Sustainability, and Capital Markets and Advisory) and CIB and HBEU COO.

In this role you will:
• Lead strategic communications advisory to Banking Europe and Americas, managing leadership and executive communications, issues and crisis response and strategic projects and initiatives.
• Oversee communications business partnering for CIB global business lines (GPS, GTS, MSS, HIF&S, CMA) and CIB and HBEU COO.
• Oversee the development and delivery of integrated communications plans for business-aligned campaigns, capabilities, strategic projects and changes.
• Ownership of frontline communications strategy, campaigns and channels for and in partnership with the CIB global business teams.
• Identify and escalate reputation risks and develop the associated mitigation strategies to build/safeguard the reputation of HSBC across individual business and product lines.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• Exceptional business partnering skills, able to advise C-level executives on communications strategies and coach them on delivery.
• Ability to lead in developing, managing and implementing effective integrated communications strategies, including change communications and creative campaigns.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills which enable you to explain things clearly and in ways that different internal audiences will understand.
• Strong team player and network builder across a complex organisation and different geographies.
• A creative mind-set with a genuine interest in communications and storytelling.
