We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as a Head of Compliance Advisory CMB and GM MHQ.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Accountable for implementation of central policy/advice, monitoring and central escalation of regulatory compliance matters related to CMB/GM.

  • Provide compliance advice and control for CMB/ GM in HACN

  • Provide input to the Regulatory Compliance global risk management framework to ensure it meets legislative and regulatory requirements.

  • Support Chief Compliance Officer (Head of Regulatory Compliance) in the achievement of the strategic / operational objectives.

  • Act as principal point of contact for internal and external stakeholders in HACN.

  • Participate in and work with relevant industry bodies and groups in relation to Regulatory Compliance related initiatives.

  • Help to ensure Compliance processes, including (but not limited to) compliance charts and risk assessments, compliance plans and exception reporting are implemented and driven in HACN

  • Work with and provide counsel to, Functional Heads to cascade and implement Global Compliance Policy and act as a subject matter expert for Compliance Projects at the HACN Level.

Requirements
  • Significant compliance and regulatory experience across business lines. 

  • Knowledge of current and emerging issues and trends in financial services regulatory environment and industry good practices.

  • Strong working knowledge of financial services regulations, regulatory protocols and banking products.

  •  Familiarity with HSBC’s Group structure, its business and personnel, and a deep understanding of HACN’s corporate culture.

  • Ability to clearly articulate business and regulatory implications of guidelines, policies, strategies.

  • Ability to think laterally and solve intricate problems. 

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.

  • Highly self-motivated; able to work independently in a multidisciplinary environment.

  • Extensive knowledge of regulations and guidance.

  • Possess the ability and drive to raise standards and make an impact on the Compliance culture.
