Equity Derivatives (EQD) Technology is a global team responsible for delivering cutting edge technology solutions to support the full lifecycle of equity derivatives trading – from pricing and quoting to trade capture, risk management and post trade processing. We partner closely with Trading, Sales, Structuring and Operations to build systems that are resilient, scalable and adaptable to rapidly changing market conditions

In this role you will:

 

This position will be part of the Equity Derivatives IT team in HSBC’s Global Banking and Markets Division. The Equity Derivatives technology group spans the globe and services all client areas within the bank for Equities-related services. Curiosity and a growth mind-set driven by continuous learning are key values within our team.

 

We’re looking for a Head of Pre-Trade Technology with a passion for building high quality customer focused solutions. The candidate will be experienced in leading a strong distributed engineering team. Hands on design and Kotlin based coding experience is a key requirement. Leading by example is highly valued and as a result experience building, deploying and supporting large-scale systems (specifically EQD pre-trade) in a rapidly moving environment is a must.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

·         Must have hands on coding experience using Kotlin programming language

·         Experience designing the architecture of a complex, Derivatives front office platform

·         In depth understanding of the pre trade workflow, e.g. Pricing, Document generation, etc

·         Must be able to lead the global team of developers across multiple regions

·         Must be able to partner with internal and external stakeholders including Trading, Structuring, Quants and Product Owners

·         Solid experience of equity derivatives critical business workflow including pricing, booking, trading, risk monitoring, PNL, quant model integration

·         Knowledge of public cloud infrastructure such as GCP, AWS

 

This role is based in London and offers hybrid working.
