In this role you will: 
  • Develop processes and operational controls for a new and growing business
  • Lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of non-financial risks (NFRs) across all insurance operational activities
  • Support and oversee all Risk & Control Assessments (RCAs), issue management, and control monitoring processes
  • Drive control improvement and remediation initiatives, providing constructive challenges to existing practices
  • Manage the Insurance Bermuda first line operational risks, ensuring effective execution of internal business services and transformation initiatives
  • Maintain full responsibility for operational functions, including data input, maintenance, and tracking of reports to/from third-party insurers

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria: 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in operations management, risk, control, compliance, or audit roles, preferably in banking, with insurance experience 
  • Solid understanding of operational risk frameworks and the Three Lines of Defence
  • Experience with risk management systems (e.g., Helios) is an advantage
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
