We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as Head of Wealth Planning, Greater China

Principle Responsibilities

  • The Head of Wealth Planning for Greater China will lead the strategic direction and operational excellence of the wealth planning team which services high and ultra high net-worth clients with the offshore China and offshore Taiwan teams of Global Private Banking 
  • He/she must oversee the development and delivery of comprehensive advice and structuring solutions in succession planning and business ownership transfer while collaborating with the wider Wealth Planning & Advisory team, relationship managers and other specialists 
  • The role demands visionary leadership to drive business development, innovation, and revenue growth, while maintaining HSBC's commitment to client centric excellence   
  • He/she will need to act as a thought leader in the industry, representing the organisation at key forums, shaping market strategies, and mentoring a high-performing team 
  • Focus on international and generational wealth planning, and to ensure alignment with global best practices and regulatory requirements, positioning HSBC as the trusted advisor in wealth management 
Requirements

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

  • At least 15 years of relevant experience either in private professional practice and/or at financial institutions advising high and ultra-high net worth clients on wealth planning topics
  • Extensive knowledge of domestic and international client needs with direct experience on use of trust, insurance and funds solutions
  • An in-depth knowledge of our competitive landscape and regulatory environment
  • Experience leading, managing, and coaching professionals in a changing environment, proactively addressing evolution in the industry
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to develop strong and productive relationships with clients, key senior management, colleagues and intermediaries in the wealth planning industry
  • Degree holder in law, accounting or finance, preferably with the STEP, CPA, law qualification
  • Highest levels of ethical standards and integrity
  • Must have Chinese and English language fluency and experience in advising clients on wealth planning matters in Putonghua
