The opportunity: Intern – Corporate and Institutional Banking Coverage

This is 6 - month fixed term full time internship

What you will do: 

This internship with HSBC will allow you to build on your education and gain valuable insights into the world of corporates and financial institutions. Our branch in the Netherlands has a diverse and open culture with a true can-do mentality. 

Your internship will be in the Corporate and Institutional Banking business line. You will be part of an experienced team of banking professionals where you have the opportunity to learn and are encouraged to bring fresh ideas.

In this role you will:

• Develop and maintain financial models to support new business origination and review existing assets. Also assist with the preparation of internal material to assess existing and new transactions/deals, including:
a) Financial modeling
b) Financial analysis
c) Industry and competitor analyses
d) Identifying key financial and other risks
• Support with prospecting of new clients and identifying further commercial cross sell opportunities on existing clients.
• Work in partnership with other teams to deliver the services and products of the bank in a fair and transparent manner. This includes participating in most of the phases of our transaction annual reviews and origination efforts, including assisting with the coordination of cross-functional teams during due diligence and deal execution phase.
• Ensure that the business meets its regulatory requirements, and perform our internal portfolio monitoring tasks.

You should apply if you: 

• Are currently enrolled in a university. Masters degree would be preferable.
• Have a finance background in your education.
• Possess excellent communication skills in English.
• Have a natural inclination for analytical thinking and problem solving.
