HSBC Ventures is one of the key pillars of HSBC's global innovation strategy and focuses on accelerating innovation at HSBC through strategic investments in emerging companies relevant to Financial Services.

As our Investment Associate you will:

• Stay current on emerging trends and develop investment theses
• Source and recommend investment targets in key focus areas such as AI, data, security, fintech, blockchain, and quantum computing
• Support investment evaluations, prepare investment papers, conduct due diligence and manage internal and external stakeholders
• Assist in all aspects of the investment execution process including documentation, compliance, internal approvals, term negotiation, signing and closing
• Facilitate collaboration with business units to align investment priorities
• Monitor investment performance and the development of portfolio companies
• Prepare executive reviews
• Support the team in achieving key strategic goals
  

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $110,700.00 and $166,000.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

• MBA plus degrees in CS/EE preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• 2+ years of investment experience in corporate venture capital, venture capital or a related field; corporate development, investment banking or consulting experience is a plus
• Strong understanding of enterprise technology and financial markets
• Proficient in market research, financial modeling, valuation and problem-solving
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for innovation with an entrepreneurial mindset
• Hybrid working model – onsite a few days a week at the San Francisco office
