The department deals with Fraud Detection, Prevention and Mitigation and constantly works towards combating financial fraud and protecting the Bank and our customers from losses. The team supports most of the global businesses across all regions of the group.

 

The Opportunity:

  • The role holder should have a robust understanding of Fraud Operations to be able to review process steps and articulate the same into simple yet thorough procedural content. The role holder will play an integral part in supporting one of the key objectives for the department – i.e to support the reduction of Ops losses by developing robust procedures that are fit for purpose and mitigate the underlying risks effectively.

What you’ll do:

  • Review processes and existing procedures to develop robust procedural content.

  • Develop an understanding of up-stream & down-stream processes to be able to develop E2E procedures that address any control gaps during hand-offs.

  • Have a risk acumen & eye for detail to be able to determine if existing procedures are fit for purpose and are able to mitigate the inherent risks, else develop content suited to that purpose.

  • Ensure the content deliverables meet end users’ needs and are fit for purpose and are delivered in a timely manner

  • Learn HSBC tools and methodologies for Knowledge and Content management.

  • Work closely with Ops, Business and Risk stakeholders for content development. 
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Excellent communication skills, specially written English, and ability to write about complex topics in a simple manner.

  • Ability to learn quickly and transfer knowledge in an effective manner.

  • Ability to work against tight deadlines.

  • Understanding of the creation of audience-focused, structured documentation with focus on quality.

  • Understanding of Operational Risk

  • All applicants should have served at least 18 months in their current functional role and department

  • All applicants must have successfully completed their probation period

  • Employees must meet performance and behavioural standards as defined in the policy

  • Ability to work with different stakeholders collaboratively.

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Proven ability to prioritise workload effectively in line with business priorities.

  • Knowledge of Fraud Operations (Preferable)

  • Reporting and MS Office skills (Essential).

  • Knowledge of VISIO (desirable)

  • Past experience of performing a technical writing role, with a track record of creating business policies, processes and procedures from source material (Desirable)
