Global Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is a sub function of Group Risk and Compliance. The ERM function will support the integration of our Group Framework and Appetite Management, and have broad oversight of the Risk Taxonomy.

The Opportunity:

The role holder is also primarily responsible for ensuring that Asia Pacific Markets adhere to standards for the management of operational risk as set out in the Regional framework for Enterprise Risk and Operational Risk Management, and that Resilience Risks are managed within appetite.

What you’ll do:

• The role holder will have responsibility to provide Asia Pacific Markets with operational risk and resilience risk oversight:
• Ensure the integrity and timely completeness of risk and control identification, assessment and information within the Group’s Risk and Control system of record (Helios) as well as directing documented remediation plans for residual risks
• Supporting with thematic reviews across Asia Pacific Markets to ensure that risk and control environment is commensurate with the scale and nature of operations
• Supports Asia Pacific Markets their operational and resilience risk management and acts as a key contact and escalation for senior stakeholder engagement
• Supports embedding the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and provides advice, guidance and challenge in relation to control effectiveness within Asia Pacific Markets
• Provides 2LOD oversight of top and emerging risks, ensuring Asia Pacific Markets can mitigate these timely and cost effectively
• Attends Asia Pacific Markets control meetings and non-financial risk governance forums, providing both Operational Risk oversight and robust and timely Risk Steward challenge of the First Line of Defence (1LOD) view of the resilience risk profile as required
• Responsible for developing and promoting an increasingly insightful process based view of Enterprise Risk Management
• Applies risk stewardship review and challenge over Resilience Risk RCAs and control environment.

What you will need to succeed in the role:

• Strong level of business management knowledge.
• Strong level of risk management knowledge and relevant experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the external environment (risk, regulatory, geopolitical, competitor etc).
• Providing Expert Advice and Robust Challenge.
• Delivering Risk Steward Policies.
• Oversee, Review, and Challenge Risks and Controls.
• Understanding and Applying Risk Management in Context.   

What additional skills will be good to have?

• A BA or BS University Degree preferable in relevant discipline.
• Professional qualifications on Cybersecurity, Information Systems Audit and Control Association or equivalent qualification from a recognised professional body may be advantageous.
