We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager, UK Business Development and Planning.
The Manager, HSBC UK Business Development and Planning will support the UK Chief of Staff (CoS) to drive execution of the UK strategy and partner with the UK WPB and UK CMB businesses to enable key customer, growth and simplification activities.
The successful candidate will be supporting the UK CoS and Director, HSBC UK Business Development and Planning in leading key initiatives on behalf of the CEO.
The role holder will also support the drive towards a customer-centric and high-performance culture in the UK business, as well as support entity updates to HSBC UK OpCo and Board.

In this role you will:
• Actively lead and participate in strategic business insight, execution, external reporting and regulatory briefings, to support key activities in collaboration with the UK WPB, CMB and Infrastructure teams and key group counterparts.
• Provide insight and analysis on the external environment (e.g., key market, customer, competitor, technology trends) to support the identification of customer, growth and simplification opportunities.
• Monitor business performance and provide business insight for strategic projects at the CEO’s request.
• Ensure proper and timely consideration of the UK operating environment for planning and performance activities.
• Support with key entity governance papers presented to the HSBC UK OpCo and UK Board.
• Strengthen and build effective internal and external relationships, upholding the brand of HSBC, to enable the successful delivery of projects, initiatives and events.
• Lead and/or support the delivery of ad hoc projects to improve quality of strategic planning, MI, accountability and governance.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• Experience in HSBC with an ability to navigate the organisation to deliver high quality outcomes.
• Experience in supporting the execution of strategic initiatives, working as part of a broader team.
• Experience in a role that requires communication of information in a compelling way to different audiences.
• Project management skills and the ability to execute key initiatives/projects.
• Ability to build good working relationships with UK WPB, UK CMB, UK Infrastructure teams and key group counterparts.
• Ability to demonstrate absolute discretion, integrity and judgment in handling sensitive/confidential matters/information is critical.
• Experience with financial Reporting results, income statements and insights.
• Business writing and experience in producing board papers.
• Leadership experience.
