  • The Regulatory Reporting Governance team, is a part of the Group Regulatory Reporting function in FinOps. The team is responsible for the overall Regulatory Reporting oversight, including review across key Group returns and Disclosures including the Annual report and Accounts, Pillar 3 etc. and other Regulatory artefacts, as well as responsible for embedding controls and running Cross Validations across different areas within Regulatory Reporting. The team also leads Internal Assurance activities on specific topics and compliance checks across implemented interpretations

What you’ll do:

  • Perform targeted reviews across various areas of Regulatory reporting, including review of returns, compliance with EBA Q&As
  • As part of targeted reviews co-ordinate with BAU teams, Finance Change and IT Teams to understand existing processes, system logics.
  • Understand and interpret requirements under the UK CRR, working closely with the Group Regulatory Policy Team to get clarifications on interpretation matters. 
  • Pro-active identification of the issues, raising it at the right forums and working closely with BAU teams to understand and opine for a timely resolution.
  • Ensure the MI is prepared, reviewed and analyzed before sharing with respective stakeholders.
  • Collaboration and co-ordination with Group and Regional teams on regulatory matters and findings.
  • Working with large datasets and producing innovative solutions and automating existing manual manipulation of data where possible,
  • Working on systems such as Qliksense, Corb3, TM1 and Saracen
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Qualified CA (Chartered Accountant)/CWA /CPA /CFA/ MBA (Finance)/ PGDBM-Finance with at least 5+ years of post-qualification experience or commerce graduates with at least 5+ years of experience in accounting/financial reporting, management reporting, global consolidation, financial analysis within IFRS and IAS reporting framework
  • Hands-on experience of Regulatory reporting desirable
  • Strong attention to detail having strong analytical skills is essential
  • Good understanding of financial products and how they impact finance operations and more generically the banking business.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS related products i.e. Excel, Power Point, Access.
  • Demonstrate ability to learn and communicate complex ideas in a simple manner to a global audience.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with stakeholders of different seniority and geographical location.
  • Excellent communication skills and presentation skills are mandatory, as are good tact and diplomacy, as the role requires relationship management with other individuals and teams within the HSBC Group
  • Defining the approach and dealing with complex and at times conflicting requirements
