HSBC Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting HSBC’s clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.

We have an opportunity within HSBC Asset Management for a Portfolio Manager, Index & ETF Equity Strategies - This is a GCB4 level role.

In this role you will:

·         Adopt effective management of Passive Equity (index, mutual, Exchange Traded Funds (ETF’s) investment products across a designated portfolio including monitoring investment performance and making investment decisions.

·         Be proactive in achieving target tracking performance in respect of all managed funds.

·         Have input in the research and product development activities, in the development of Passive Equity and Fixed Income ETFs.

·         Assist to further develop the Investment team capability by having input into enhancing processes, procedures & implementation opportunities. 

·         Support the Head of Passive equities to maintain a research, analytics and risk framework that will ultimately improve investment capability, technology solutions and process and client deliverables in order to further grow the business. 

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

·         Relevant level of knowledge and experience in Portfolio Management across Passive Equities (Index, Mutual, Exchange Traded Funds (ETF’s)) is essential. Knowledge of synthetics would be a bonus.

·         Thorough understanding of buyside Investment processes within Institutional level investors is essential.

·         Have a commercial mindset led by a quantitative research approach with the ability to work with complex data and information to creates positive outcomes is essential. 

·         Possess strong stakeholder management skills that enable you to create ‘trusted partner’ credibility across a range of Internal and external audiences is essential.

·         Really well organised and takes a pragmatic approach to dealing with multiple demands on your time and managing tasks is with conflicting priorities is essential.

This role is based In London and will require occasional travel for client meetings.
