We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of PAM Team lead SRE.
IAM Technology is a global engineering and development team providing Identity and Access Management technology for HSBC. We provide and support many of the Bank’s most critical IAM infrastructure services including Active Directory, Privileged Access Management (PAM) and Access Governance. We are passionate about providing high-quality, automated, and self-service solutions to our customers. Specialist Engineers within PAM Technology within one of three key functions - SRE, Engineering or Development, working in an Agile pod within a globally diverse team. There are opportunities to specialise in one area or rotate to build a broad range of technical skills in this diverse and exciting field.
This role reports into the Head of PAM Technology as team lead of the SRE (site reliability engineering) function. The role holder will lead one of the functions within the PAM Technology area and have opportunity to work on multiple products and technologies. This is a flexible and fluid technology function with wide ranging SME engineers able to fulfil all PAM tooling requirements. The functions within PAM include Engineering, Development and SRE (support and maintenance) capabilities. The role holder will lead our team members in these areas as well driving service improvements.

In this role you will:
• Establish new and improved ways of working within a newly created SRE function where the focus is on stability and resiliency of our core services.
• Develop and manage major incident action plans, chair post-incident reviews, and drive improvement actions.
• Oversee significant changes, ensuring risk assessments are conducted and change management compliance is maintained. Represent changes in CAB meetings.
• Improve service health and resilience by implementing new ways of working and adoption of new technology.
• Make decisions regarding technical debt adoption and associated action plans. Lead risk management and present to senior stakeholders.
• Drive service improvement initiatives as part of the ITSO role.
• Maintain a deep understanding of industry advancements to influence architectural and design decisions.
• Define and execute roadmaps and strategies. Serve as a key participant in PAM strategy programmes.
• Develop and maintain robust relationships with all PAM vendors, including contractor agencies.
• Liaise between technical teams and senior management, translating technical details into business-relevant insights.
• Manage out-of-hours work when required.
• Lead a function, including line management responsibilities. Define and optimise procedures to enhance team efficiency.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• Extensive experience working within a Cyber Security, Identity and Access Management (Privileged Access Management preferred) team
• Must have recent experience of driving standard and consistent operating processes in the PAM space across a large global team, including communicating, documenting and tracking success of adoption.
• In depth knowledge of one or more PAM vendor products, and also the ability to talk to PAM industry trends and strategy direction.
• Experience in managing vendor relationships including ownership of service improvement plans through constructive feedback provision
• Strong background service ownership including managing crisis calls, with root cause remediation plans, delivering major changes without service impact and maintaining high levels of service compliance.
