We are seeking a passionate Assistant/Digital Money Product Manager to design, develop, and deliver digital money-based payment solutions, maintaining HSBC's position as a leading financial institution in the field, and helping corporate clients achieve efficient and compliant cross-border and local payments.   

      

The Opportunity:  

This role will support the full product lifecycle management from planning to market launch, collaborating closely with technology, risk management, marketing, internal and external stakeholders to create payment and settlement products that meet regulatory requirements and bank product governance requirements.  

      

What you’ll do:     

Product Design and Delivery

  • Analyze industry trends, competitors, and regulatory policies to identify opportunities and develop differentiated competitive strategies.

  • Coordinate cross-functional resources (technology, compliance, and marketing) to ensure product goals are aligned with company strategy.

  • Contribute to the design of digital money and payment processes, including core functionality such as digital money wallets on blockchain, settlement interfaces, and API integration.

  • Collaborate with the technical team to drive product development, testing, and launch, ensuring high-quality delivery and an optimized user experience. Monitor product performance and continuously iterate features of the product to support a variety of use cases.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure product is compliant with local regulatory frameworks by understanding relevant regulatory frameworks.

  • Engage and legal and internal compliance teams to design risk control processes to address digital money volatility, transaction security, enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance and financial crime compliance considerations.

Banking and Partnerships

  • Collaborate with strategic partners to promote the commercialization of digital money payment solutions.

  • Support strategic partnerships with blockchain platforms and other technology providers.

Customer Operations

  • Collect customer feedback and optimize product features to meet the needs of both corporate clients (e.g., e-commerce, B2B)

  • Developing training guide for internal and external use, client onboarding and servicing flows.

Marketing and communications

  • Support product promotion strategies and enhance brand influence through case studies, white papers, and industry events.

  • Support internal marketing and communications efforts to elevate and increase the visibility of HSBC’s digital money initiatives.     

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:       

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in finance, economics, business administration or related fields.

Work Experience

  • 2-3 years of product management experience, having led the full lifecycle development of at least one product.

  • Basic knowledge of bank payments and settlements

  • Experience with digital money/blockchain technology (e.g., Stablecoins, CBDCs, Tokenised Deposit) preferred.

  • Background in international banks/financial institutions preferred (familiarity and interest in international banking and payments regulations preferred).

Required Skills

  • Communication and Collaboration: Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbally with bank's internal risk managers (E.g., Financial Crime, Regulatory Compliance, Legal, Enterprise Risk Management, Tax, Treasury etc) and regulators to facilitate the implementation of complex product and projects.

  • Fluent English speaking and document writing, presentation deck preparation (preferred)

  • Payment Process Knowledge: Understanding of bank payment and settlement processes and clearing liquidity arrangements.

  • Product Management Skills: Mastery of agile development methodologies and product management lifecycles.

  • Risk Sensitivity: Familiarity with the financial regulatory frameworks of Hong Kong and Singapore and understanding of digital money compliance requirements in major global markets (EU, UK, US).

Certification Preferred

  • Certificate in International Cash Management (CertICM).

  • Project Management Professional certification.
