The Opportunity:

• A  leadership role overseeing the Product quality framework with global coverage to include:
• Development and ongoing execution of a robust, strategic framework to test the effectiveness of the processes, systems and controls designed to delivery customer outcomes across all functions and products within Securities Services.
• Proactive product oversight to prevent issues
• Drive capability in a product and change management focused risk team building expertise and specialisms in emerging areas (such as digital capabilities and resilience risk)
• Initiate and or contribute to Governance & Reporting – to oversee, support and deliver fit for purpose governance arrangements and related reporting
• Assurance & Monitoring – Develop comprehensive risk metrics (Key Risk Indicators - KRIs) to monitor and report on the effectiveness of processes.
• Identify design weaknesses and recommend necessary improvements, driving these changes into the Business as Usual (BAU) environment. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to enhance the operating model and ensure the effective implementation of process design.
• Review and respond to emerging themes and triggers both internally and across the industry

What you’ll do:

Lead & Direct

• Support and manage stakeholder relationships across SSv, technology, operations and other supporting functions
• Provide commercially based assessment of services and processes against agreed internal standards/appetite/ product standard and external requirements
• Lead initiatives to foster a culture of excellence in servicing customers, promoting a proactive mindset among team members and stakeholders.
• Drive the Bangalore Product Quality team

Customers / Stakeholders

• Support the SSv senior management in ensuring the appropriate quality standards of our products are met and continually measured
• Ensure succinct and concise communication of risk matters across SSv, Markets & Securities Services (‘MSS’), the Global Functions and other relevant areas of the bank
• Establish clear accountability within functions for servicing and controls adherence, ensuring all team members understand their responsibilities.
• Provide consistent internal and external benchmarking, where appropriate.

Product effectiveness & Control - Foster a proactive control mindset and culture within the team and across the organization, encouraging continuous learning and improvement.

• Collaborate with NFR, Audit, Risk, Compliance, IT, Product Leads, Client Management and Operations and other relevant teams to implement and test lessons learned from Operational Risk Events (OREs), including GEMs and Helios incidents and 2nd and 3rf line reviews
• Implement best practices for the operating model and controls framework to ensure continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Assess the competencies of functional teams and identify required upgrades to enhance performance and adherence to standards.
• Conduct risk-based thematic reviews front to back to identify trends and areas for improvement, leading to enhanced outcomes in servicing and customer outcomes.

What you will need to succeed in the role:

• Experience in quality / assurance type activities
• Good understanding of the SSv product suite and industry.
• Data driven and focused mindset
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical and interpretation skills to enhance standards, policies and controls
• Broad knowledge of the external environment (regulatory, political, competitors etc.)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to negotiate and work effectively with senior business leaders across business lines and geographies 
• Strong problem solving and prioritization skills and be able to perform multitask under pressure with a keen eye for detail
• Excellent team player with a proactive and self-motivated attitude and ability to think and act independently
• Self-starter, keen to identify problems and take ownership to conclusion
• Strong commercial awareness
• Can do’ attitude with a willingness to roll-up the sleeves in order to get things done
