We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Strategic Change Project Manager, Global Wholesale Transformation & Performance.

 

The Opportunity:  

Project Manager acts as Wholesale Business’ change advocates, supporting the implementation of the Wholesale and Group strategy and is committed to making change a source of sustainable competitive advantage for HSBC. The Project Manager will execute and embed change across the business – thus delivering a unified change experience to Wholesale Banking. They are expected to have knowledge of Group strategy and the challenges or risks the Group faces.  

 

What you’ll do:     

  • Influence and collaborate with stakeholders and business partners, building strong relationships to ensure consensus and influence change outcomes. Foster open and honest communication, which anticipates stakeholder expectations.
  • To manage the change & its execution and to ensure monetisation of benefits.
  • Deliver the change effectively.
  • Responsible and accountable for the delivery of highly complex and business critical change effort in accordance with existing industry best practices and methodologies, in the process establishing credibility for the Change team.
  • Proactively monitor areas of concern and risks within the project / programme and provide recommendations to mitigate them to ensure SLAs of delivery are met.
  • Promote adherence to project/programme governance model and use defined standards and tools for processes such as risk logs, change control and resource requests.
  • Set the pace and operating rhythm, driving a culture of high performance, achievement and ensure pace by identifying and removing barriers to programme success.
  • Demonstrate financial acumen to develop a global business case, including investments, detailed benefits and link to overall finances of the business.
  • Ensure adoption of relevant frameworks and methodologies thus driving a common high performance approach and that an Agile approach to change is fully embedded within key change programme.
  • Ensure governance processes and decisions are applied consistently. 
  • Contribute to the active management and rationalisation of wholesale banking’s change portfolio, ensuring prioritisation is based on risk/return, resource availability/skills and rigorous commercial criteria.
  • Manage, measure, and track change impacts as a result of the programme/project.
  • Continuously support capability build of the Change Consulting Practice i.e. through sponsoring and advocating community events, sharing relevant articles / studies / ideas, ensuring regular development and sharing of Global Transformation consulting case studies etc.
  • Promote the value of challenging the status quo, seeking to improve ways of working and having a forward-thinking mind-set, in line with the Group’s values and strategy.
  • Closely collaborate with China onshore Strategic Change and Simplification team.
Requirements

  • User Acceptance Testing.
  • Product ownership/product management in Value Stream/Sub-Value Stream. 

 

What additional skills will be good to have?     

  • Excellent business communication skills (both written and verbal) in English.
  • Proven organisational skills and ability to quickly prioritise within a complex, fast paced environment with short deadlines.
  • Experience of working on a global scale (i.e. across time zones & geography and with remote teams).
  • Flexible and adaptable nature to manage a multi-faced role with changing priorities and assignments that are complex, unpredictable and time sensitive.
  • Critical thinker and is not afraid of challenging others' ideas.
  • Good understanding of the Group and the GB and CMB businesses, including products, propositions, services, systems, sales process, relationship management models, the financial services landscape and competitor developments.
  • Collaborative nature, able to build effective relationships with multiple stakeholders and peers internally across multiple functions and business lines and effectively influence to achieve results.
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently, under pressure and proactively in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
