Risk and Compliance – WPB Risk

Hang Seng's Risk and Compliance ("RKM") strives to maintain a well-balanced risk profile for the Bank while enabling businesses to thrive. Our team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types. We are dedicated to collaborate with businesses, other functional units and regulatory bodies to develop and implement robust and customized risk management frameworks and measures to maintain the strong market position of the Bank.

Wealth and Personal Banking Risk (“WPB Risk”) - supporting businesses to achieve the optimal profits within the Bank's risk appetite by reviewing and monitoring the retail credit portfolio through policies, procedures, systems and predictive models, and managing problem loans effectively.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Retail Credit Risk Manager.

Principal responsibilities

• Support the formulation of credit risk policies on a wide range of retail lending products.
• Liaise with business units in developing credit criteria for new business initiatives.    
• Support analytics for retail lending portfolio growth in WPB and enhance the overall profitability and optimizing risk-adjusted return.
• Support the regulatory and business MIs management in relations to retail portfolio so as to achieve better risk management capability.  
• Support the team to review on the end to end regulatory reporting process, control management framework for risk reporting under different regulators.
• Engage with stake-holders to proactively support business initiatives and provide recommendation based on analytical approaches.
• Prepare standard processes and service levels to allow the sharing of best practice; support functional activity and/or work with HSBC Group across region or specific function

• University degree in Risk Management, Statistics, Finance, Business Management, Economics or related discipline.
• Minimum 4 year’s relevant banking experience with knowledge in retail lending business, preferably in credit analytics or credit risk management
• Good analytical skill and proficient in data analysis using statistical tools such as SAS / SQL/Microsoft R / Python.
• Self-motivated, strong analytical mindset, able to meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to effectively communicate (both verbal and written) complicated concepts in a precise and well-structured manner.
• Potentially need to lead a small team to drive project completion.
• Highly proficiency in both English and Chinese.
• Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes.

Candidates with less relevant experience will be considered for the position of Assistant Retail Credit Risk Manager.
