We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of  SR. ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, Software Engineering

In this role you will:

  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure alignment of project/ programme with the wider change portfolio and the Group Strategy, Values and Behaviours.
  • Must manage and perform line management duties for a group of technologists.
  • Provide broad level overview of progress, lead and direct multidisciplinary teams across all global businesses, global functions and regions.
  • Own the identification and escalation of any budgetary related risks, issues and opportunities to senior management/function as appropriate.
  • Oversee the tracking of projects(s) risks, issues, dependencies and assesses the impacts on the benefit realization for the project(s) and take action to minimise impact, actively challenging and removing obstacles.
  • Influences and collaborates with application teams and other global business stakeholders and partners to drive the business outcomes by considering the larger picture.
  • Represents Integration Delivery team, where necessary, at discussions regarding project/programme prioritization and to create buy-in for risk mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Implements and utilises IT best practices and governance frameworks in area of responsibility and follow internal DevOps principles.
  • Closely work with Integration product teams and make available the latest version of product across regions for use by applications belonging to various GBGF’s.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including consumers of integration products, vendors, ITID and architecture functions.
  • Identify Integration requirements, contributing to technical discussions, and build architecturally sound solution designs based on requirements by collaborating with globally dispersed Integration teams.
  • Oversee capacity alignment and recruitment.
  • Ensure delivery of activities within owned budget and actively find ways to standardise and streamline activities to make them more cost effective.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Should have experience (15+) in managing high performance team preferably from Integration area with development and support background.
  • Knowledge about HSBC proprietary ISM/R2 standards and experience in Enterprise Application Integration - with implementation experience using ESB tools, proprietary HSBC mainframe Integration products such as R2ds for Cobol, GSI and zAPI
  • Proven understanding of z Architecture and Sysplex compliance and ability to define and build architecturally sound integration solutions
  • Production support experience and troubleshooting skills in a high transaction load environment
  • Knowledge on IBM ACE Integration product and implementations.
  • Knowledge of DevOps tooling such as Jenkins, Git, Splunk, Jira/Confluence, AppD
  • Understanding and knowledge of the Rest, JSON, YAML and API standards.
  • Good knowledge and working experience in Agile / scrum / Kanban methodologies
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written are essential.
  • Demonstrate ability to rapidly build relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors – including IBM.
  • Strong business sense with good understanding in how IT systems impact business objectives.
  • Approaching technical challenges with an open and collaborative mindset.
  • Liaising with other lines of business and teams to deliver on common priorities.
  • Experience in building and managing high performance, highly available and scalable systems.
  • Experience in building and managing complex software systems that have been successfully adopted by customers over extended time periods.
  • Ability to deliver short term results while investing in long term strategic solutions
  • Strong understanding of operational effectiveness and strong delivery drive
  • Strong people leadership, teamwork, gathering information and analyzing, judgment and decision making, communication competencies
