The Job holder supports Senior Management in meeting their obligations by providing an active support in the implementation of Sanctions policy in compliance with local regulation and Group’s Global Sanctions Policies and international standards.

The jobholder assists the Country Head of Sanctions

  • to identify and contain Sanction compliance risks, foster a compliance culture in the Bank
  • to optimize relations with the Regulators, protect the reputation of the Group and comply with applicable Group policies and standards as well as local laws and regulations in order to prevent criminal sanctions
  • to provide consultancy service to the Country Level 3 Team escalations including Customer, Payment and GTRF related transactions, identify local Sanctions lists requiring inclusion in screening. The execution of screening against these lists is to be supported by Regional and Global Sanctions functions and lead country specific screening projects in coordination with Country Sanctions Head.

In the execution of Sanctions duties, the job holder must independently handle the tasks assigned to him/her and be able to take decisions on matters within their designated authority. The job holder must be able to independently analyze and critically evaluate the responses received and escalate as appropriate. 


Qualifications
  • Risk professional with preferable experience in one or more risk compliance roles, including Sanctions experience
  • Knowledge of Sanctions regulations and guidance
  • Experience in the financial services industry
  • Lateral thinker with an ability to interpret and solve complex issues
  • Excellent communicator with strong inter-personal and influencing skills
  • Ability to lead change, contributing to joining up with the other teams in Risk and Business
  • Ability to develop practical, cost effective solutions to complex issues
  • Strong fluency in English (reading, writing and speaking)
  • Ability to multi-task across many fields involving potentially complex projects and multiple teams
