- Today, the WDAC team generates value across the group through a wide variety of data and analytic solutions and related business consulting. WDAC has become a one-stop shop for the Wholesale section of the group’s analytic needs leading the integration of analytics and data-driven decisions not only in traditional areas such as Wholesale & Commercial Banking but also in new domains such as Regulatory, Operations, Procurement, Credit & Lending, IT Infrastructure, and Financial Crime Risk. It provides support to various business groups and the job involves data analysis, model and strategy development & implementation, Business Intelligence, reporting and data management and analysis.
- The team based out of multiple locations across the GSCs (India/China/Mexico) providing analytics, data & insight support to various Wholesale, CMB/ GB portfolios. Team’s focus is on using logical thought process and relevant statistical techniques and right tools & techniques & productize scaled solutions to analyse product portfolio metrics and risk behaviour to arrive at value-based optimum decisions
Role purpose
- The person is expected to execute various analyses and develop strategies to support business decisions across the customer lifecycle for a particular product/market
- Provide support for analytical/strategy projects.
- Complete analysis as required and document results and present findings to stakeholders
- Execute moderate to complex analysis and strategy with proper instructions.
What you’ll do:
- The jobholder will continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
- Provide analytical support to Global / Regional businesses covering Customer analytics/ Product analytics/ Portfolio analytics etc.
- Data Quality Analysis, Segmentation, Clustering techniques
- Trend Analysis and Dashboard Creation based on Visualization technique
- Develop Statistical models and data frameworks
- Participate in projects leading to solutions using various analytic techniques.
- Understands business objective of the project and should work with manager/senior- analyst to implement the solution
- Execute the assigned projects/ analysis as per the agreed timelines and with accuracy and quality
- Independently delivers end to end on simple projects. Should assist in delivery of more complicated analyses/strategy under supervision of the team lead within agreed timelines and as per agreed quality standards
- Produce high quality data and reports which support process improvements, decision-making and achievement of performance targets across the respective Business Areas.
- Complete analysis as required and document results and formally present findings to management
- Responsible for developing and executing Business Intelligence / analytical initiatives in line with the objectives laid-down by business, using from different structured and unstructured data sources.
- Understand business requirements enough to be able to produce, automate, analyses and interpret analysis reports and support the compliance and regulatory requirements. Responsible for effectively deliver the projects within timeline and at desired quality level
- Should be able to resolve queries/issues associated with a project.
- Ensure adherence with all the applicable compliance policies (Data security policy, AML, operational risk, Functional manual, Group Compliance Manual, Audit recommendations, Internal Control requirements, regulatory guidelines etc.) and business standards of Organization as applicable. Take timely action on Audit comments and be able to demonstrate compliance with Internal controls.
Requirements
What you will need to succeed in the role:
Functional Knowledge
- Basic data & analytics experience or equivalent. Knowledge and understanding of financial services preferred
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from reputed university in Math’s/ Stat or other numerical discipline. Concentration on Computers, Science or other fields such as engineering are desirable
- Strong Experience with analytic systems with SQL, Python & Alteryx along with Microsoft suite skills are required
- Strong visualization skills are also a plus (Qliksense preferred)
- Familiarity with Big Query, Hadoop and GCP knowledge are desirable
- Strong analytical skills and detail oriented. Understand basic data quality management principles
- Good communication skills in both written and spoken. Ability to develop and effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams. Strong interpersonal skills and drive for success
- Independent worker with high drive and can support Global teams with demanding work hour
- Analytical thought process and aptitude for problem solving
