The Opportunity:

  • CIB Data & Analytics is looking for Business Analysts that will work on the end-to-end flow of a broad range of analytics use cases, to deliver real business value. We need people with experience of the full range of business analysis skills, from supporting the development of business cases, gathering requirements, detailed data analysis, documenting solution designs and testing.
  • This opportunity is for a technology focused Senior Analyst to join the Core Client Profitability workstream of the Omnia programmer. Omnia is CIB and Commercial Banking’s strategic tool for Client Analytics. It is both a detailed data asset and an interactive suite of reporting and insights, informing Frontline commercial decision-making from Portfolio to Customer and Transaction. 

Workstream objectives:

  • Core functionality and data enhancements to the Omnia platform, ensuring ongoing accuracy of analytics, and meeting evolving business demand
  • Design and management of robust data reconciliation and production control processes, ensuring platform stability, data refresh cadence and data quality

What you’ll do:

Principle responsibilities include:

  • End-to-end analytical support to technology change delivery, from requirements documentation and design to coordination of technical deployment and testing
  • Develop a strong understanding of business and data structures and operations in order to translate business need into technical requirements
  • Lead on data analysis and detailed reconciliations, informing analytics scope and design
  • Work with the Product Owner to ensure that all key stakeholders are appropriately considered and engaged during analysis and implementation
  • Chair kick-off meetings, regular status updates and other forums
  • Adhere to workstream and programme governance structures, including regular updates to the PMO and Programmer Leadership, and MI as required
  • Monitor and escalate risks, issues and dependencies as appropriate

  • The jobholder must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with various colleagues across the Business, Finance, Data and IT, who may have their own conflicting local pressures 
  • The jobholder must possess the ability to prioritize effectively and manage stakeholder expectations successfully, within strict time limits
  • The jobholder must be able to communicate effectively across a global organization, and across time-zones and cross-functional teams. This may include (but not limited to): business/technical requirements, objectives, success criteria, performance measures, timelines, risks and key dependencies.
  • The jobholder must demonstrate the ability to provide innovative recommendations and/or solutions to the project team when faced with unplanned situations.

 

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications.

The role holder will ideally have knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in finance and technology transformation (E)
  • Business analysis skills and end-to-end understanding of the technology delivery lifecycle, from requirements documentation to deployment and testing (E) ▪ Experience in MI / dashboard delivery (E) 
  • Strong understanding of business / finance concepts and terminology within a banking environment, including Client
  • Profitability and its drivers (E)
  • Skilled in data analysis, research, validation and documentation (E)
  • Detail oriented, capable of delivering work to a high level of accuracy (E)
  • Strong self-starter, enthusiastic problem solver, ability to manage multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision (E)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication (E)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, stakeholder management, and above all a team player (E)
  • High level of competency in Microsoft Office applications, in particular MS Excel (E)
  • Experience of QlikSense tooling (D)
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA) or MBA with post qualification experience (PQE) in Management Information / Client MI / Financial Control / Financial Reporting (D)
  • Background in programming language (e.g. SQL / Python / Qlik) (D)
  • Project Management certification (e.g. Prince 2, PMP) (D)
