CTO CEP-IBMz team provides Mainframe support to all mainframe machines in HK and UK. We have 6 big sub-functions under IBM Z in China, including Core Technology, Storage, OLTP(CICS), Database(DB2), OPS/MVS and Management Service.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mainframe z/OS System Support Specialist to join our Mainframe Infrastructure Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in z/OS systems administration, support, and troubleshooting. This role is critical in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our mainframe environment.
The Opportunity:
You will have opportunity to touch/learn all mainframe skills in CEP-IBMz team.
What you’ll do:
Provide day-to-day support for the z/OS operating system and associated subsystem
Perform system installations, upgrades, and patches in accordance with best practices and company policies.
Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure optimal operation.
IBMz hardware/Software design, configuration, implementation and maintenance.
Disaster Recovery planning and execution; Implement and manage backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
Setup automation to reduce manual interventions in the z/OS infrastructure, and Participate in on-call support rotation and respond to incidents as needed
Requirements
Must have working experience in z/OS system administration and support.
Strong knowledge of a combination z/OS,DB2,CICS,Storage, SMP/E, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JCL,mainframe utilities, etc。
Must have knowledge of IBM and CA Products and be able to work independently。
Fluent English communication skills.
What additional skills will be good to have?
Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., REXX, CLIST,).
Proficient in Top Secret skills
Performance monitoring using Omegamon, RMF, SMF and SAS
Experience in Agile Methodology and the use of agile toolling like Jenkins, Groovy, z/OSMF and Zowe
Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
