Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB)

Wealth and Personal Banking is our new global business combining Retail Banking and Wealth Management; and Global Private Banking, to become a global wealth manager with USD1.4 trillion in assets.  Our dedicated colleagues serve millions of customers worldwide across the entire spectrum of private wealth, ranging from personal banking for individuals and families, through to business owners, investors and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.  We provide products and services such as bank accounts, credit cards, personal loans and mortgages, as well as asset management, insurance, wealth management and private banking, that best suit our customers’ needs.

 

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

 

In this role, you will:

 

1.    Conduct product enhancement training to support and deliver insurance products and lead client education events to help client gain better knowledge of financial markets and financial solutions.

2.    Support RMs to gain more client trust and commitment in broadening and deepening their relationship with HSBC, and increase the effectiveness and quality of needs fulfilled for target clients

3.    Pre meeting with RM. Includes Portfolio Review, (Conduct portfolio reviews with RMs, assess product suitability and market and regulatory change impact to products held by clients as appropriate, identify opportunities and manage risks), Pipeline Review, case analysis, leads analysis and leads sort out

4.    Join RMs in meeting clients and provide advice, input based on technical knowledge while acting as a second point of contact to RMs for specific products and solutions

5.    Improve RMs product specific technical knowledge by effective on-job coaching and training, includes selling skill, new staff/low performance staff enhancement training, Junior staff insurance concept training, Role Play, best practice case sharing and market competitive products sharing

6.    Help RM to complete Policy Review in system and analyse Policy Review Reports to customers

7.    Closely follow up with Under Writing and Operation of Insurance Company on case level

8.    Activity: Training, Coaching, Client Seminar, Portfolio Review, Policy Review, Joint meeting

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

 

1.    Minimum six years of working experience as a product specialist or financial advisor or at least one    year of working experience as Sub-branch Manager in WPB

2.    Strong client skills with the ability to deliver a strong client experience and provide needs-based solutions

3.    Deep knowledge of specific complex financial solutions and products including the knowledge of financial markets, social-economic dynamics, and regulatory requirement relevant to the products

4.    Extensive external market awareness of market conditions, new product solutions, and an understanding of current financial market activities

5.    Demonstrated ability and experience to correctly identify client needs

6.    Solid skills to manage consultative sales process

7.    A solid understanding of global Anti-money Laundering standards

8.    Team player with collaborative skills

9.    Knowledge of local and Group compliance regulation

10.  Specialisation in one or more product categories e.g. /Estate Planning/Retirement/Protection/ Education.

Employees on selected front-line roles which support building and maintaining customer relationships need to serve 18 months before being eligible to submit internal job application without getting line managers' written endorsement.  These roles have been identified to include (across all bands): RMs in CMB / GB / WPB; Sales in GTRF / GLCM / GM, Client Management team in GLCM, Client Services team in HSS.

 

Employees on WPB Teller position need to serve 12 months after the individual has obtained all the required licenses (including 反假币证书etc.), before being eligible to submit internal job application. Otherwise, written endorsement from line managers is required.
