The Senior Manager, Controls Assurance will lead a team of highly qualified controls assurance professionals to support the business in designing and embedding a robust control framework. You will be responsible for assisting the Head of Risk, Compliance & Assurance in developing and implementing controls across WPB, ensuring adequate and high quality controls are in place and working effectively.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Support the Head of Risk, Compliance & Assurance in the design and implementation of controls assurance program.
- Monitor and lead a team of controls assurance specialists in reviewing and testing the effectiveness of WPB’s controls, including thematic reviews.
- Escalate any concerns about control effectiveness to line manager and senior management promptly, with minimal impact on WPB.
- Advanced communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Lead any remediation activities in relation to gaps and control weaknesses affecting the business.
- Ability to engage with all lines of defence, including managing all internal and external audits.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Degree qualified in relevant discipline and experience in business controls, audit (internal and external) or controls advisory
- Demonstrated experience in Non-Financial Risk / Operational Risk Management and Compliance
- Proven leadership and people management experience, ability to influence through change
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail when working with competing and conflicting priorities
- Proven problem-solving skills with ability to consider alternative and lateral solutions
- Strong communication, presentation and influencing skill
- Ability to work independently and cope with pressure and tight deadlines
Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
