We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Manager, Marketing Operations and Media.

Principal Responsibilities

This strategic role is central to our global marketing activity, responsible for driving integration, efficiency, and excellence across our global media plans.  They will be the main point person across large scale global media relationships; leading the media agency relationship for the Corporate and Institutional Bank (CIB), ensuring CIB marketing media plans are aligned across counties and global teams, that media is optimised, and best practice is both followed and shared with all global and local teams

The role is also responsible for leading the marketing services operations, which means you will help bring the team together as they deliver multiple projects across multiple marketing disciplines, helping with planned orchestration across projects, and working closely with the marketing planning team. They will also create and deliver the global awards strategy, ensuring that we enter the right awards for our banking category, and help a direct report with the orchestration of delivering the award submissions through business teams

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities (e.g., for Business, Customers and Stakeholders; internal control environment, etc.)

In this role you will

Campaigns, Content & Projects

  • Develop and oversee comprehensive global media plans, ensuring strategic alignment and consistency across all countries and global business teams
  • Own and manage large-scale global media partnerships and serve as the primary lead for our media agency relationship
  • Act as a central point of coordination for the Marketing Services team, fostering collaboration across projects spanning campaigns, content management, events, and strategic planning
  • Facilitate integrated planning processes to ensure all marketing service activities are synchronized and aligned with broader business objectives

Commercial Strategy & Growth Marketing

  • Create the global marketing media strategy for Global Corporates and Institutions, aligning with commercial growth objectives
  • Define and execute a robust global awards strategy tailored to the banking category, enhancing our brand reputation and industry recognition
  • Identify and prioritize key industry awards, building a strategic calendar for submissions
  • Identify and prioritise marketing media opportunities within the Global Corporates and Institutions segments
  • Assist in executing marketing programs that support deal origination and client acquisition

Measurement & Insights

  • Track and analyse performance metrics for all media activity, against the activity objectives
  • Drive media optimisation efforts to maximize ROI and effectiveness, establishing performance benchmarks and reporting frameworks
  • Utilise data insights to continuously refine marketing media strategies
  • Advocate for insight for marketing and go-to-market activities

Leadership & Teamwork  

  • Champion and share media best practices with global and local teams to elevate our marketing capabilities worldwide
  • Influence and work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring cohesive marketing efforts with the client/customer at the heart of decisions
  • Support the Head of Marketing Services in orchestrating all functional activities, helping to streamline workflows, manage resources, and improve operational efficiency
  • Guide and support a direct report responsible for managing the award submission process, ensuring seamless collaboration with internal business teams to create compelling entries
  • Deliver regular global check ins for marketing media activity across Global and Local CIB teams to deliver support and guidance for all things CIB media and awards
  • Promote Agile Principles and foster a collaborative working environment that reflects HSBC’s values
Requirements

To be successful you will need

  • Extensive experience in a senior marketing role (10+ years), with a strong background in global media marketing and planning, preferably within global banking or financial services
  • Proven ability to translate client and market insights into effective marketing strategies and campaigns. Proven ability to orchestrate complex, cross-functional projects
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills within global, matrixed organizations
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; MBA or Master’s in Marketing, Business, or related field is a plus
  • Strong leadership skills with a history of managing teams and influencing stakeholders in a global, matrixed organization
  • Experience managing budgets, agency relationships, and performance metrics
  • Strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment
