In this role, you will support the end-to-end lifecycle of the Secured Lending Underwriting Services process that takes place within GSC. This role is a critical role in which support’s the whole UWS Secured Lending with focus on GSC Operations for Residential Mortgages within the boundaries of HSBC local and group policies and credit risk appetite. The role works closely with, and reports directly to the Head of UWS. 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Support automation and streamlining initiatives/Transformation projects (in conjunction with the Head of UWS) to assist with reducing credit decision time for originations, straight through processing and automation of decisioning in line with strategic objectives 
  • Hold overall responsibility for the productivity and quality performance of offshore secured underwriters
  • Provide guidance, training and best practice to UWS team members with respect to efficiency and quality improvements
  • Act as a secondary key contact point and liaison for engagement with ASP Regional Team to support the local team in driving Group and Country initiatives.
  • Support UWS in developing governance, documentation and local policies and procedures for use across the WPB Secured Lending Team 
  • Assist the control owner with oversight and monitoring of key controls environment for secured lending including monitoring and oversight of key controls, early identification and remediation issues and actions and trigger events and read across
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree with understanding of lending authorities (previously held authority desirable).
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organisation to meet delivery requirement
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and able to derive business insights from data

Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
