Risk and Compliance – Wealth and Personal Banking Risk

Wealth and Personal Banking Risk (“WPB Risk”) - supporting businesses to achieve the optimal profits within the Bank's risk appetite by reviewing and monitoring the retail credit portfolio through policies, procedures, systems and predictive models, and managing problem loans effectively.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Senior Retail Credit Risk Manager.
Principal responsibilities
- Support analytics for retail lending portfolio growth in WPB and enhance the overall profitability and optimizing risk-adjusted return.
- Lead the team to support and deliver an effective reporting and oversight capability which enables the teams to deliver oversight to the relevant governance commitees and stakeholders.
- Support the implementation and ongoing management of the PRA SS1/23 on Model Risk Governance requirements, ensuring robust model risk frameworks and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Act as the onsite Project Manager for the Integrity of Regulatory Reporting project on PRA S166, overseeing project deliverables, timelines, and resource allocation to meet regulatory expectations and ensure controls, processes, systems, procedures and operating model are in place.
- Prepare, review, and submit accurate and timely regulatory reports in line with local and Group regulatory requirements, ensuring alignment with the regulators and other relevant guidelines.
- Engage with regulators, internal stakeholders, and external partners to facilitate clear communication, resolve queries, and ensure alignment on project and governance objectives.
- Being risk stewards to monitor, assess, and mitigate risks, ensuring effective risk management practices across projects and governance activities.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of processes, reports, and interactions to support audits and regulatory reviews.
- Collaborate constructively with stakeholders to ensure the required services and reportings are delivered and monitored and also support for the engagement with Group/Regional and other sub teams.
- Facilitate / encourage smooth interaction between Risk, Business, Finance and IT teams at all times
- University graduate in Statistics, Risk Management, Economic or Business Administration or related discipline.
- Minimum 10 year’s relevant banking experience with knowledge in retail lending business, preferably in credit analysis or risk management.
- Has product and credit knowledge in Retail Products / Credit Risk Management / Statistical Analysis
- Excellent analytical mind to present and interpret relevant tracking and analytics MIS
- Hands on experience in SAS and/or Python programming and data management techniques
- Excellence in project management and ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence at the senior level in the organization
- Communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to articulate the case for risk management in the language of business
- Understand and interpret complex business requirements
- Proven ability to prioritize competing demands
- Demonstrated ability to assess risk trends, both internally and externally
- High levels maturity, resilience, sharp negotiation and communication skills
- Highly proficiency in both English and Chinese
