Working with institutional investors, banks, insurance companies, governments, and multinational corporations, this team covers fund administration, global custody, sub-custody and clearing, and corporate trust and loan agency services.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Securities Lending Trader, Fixed Income APAC.

Principal Responsibilities

In this role you will

  • Effective trading book management and allocation of inventory across Fixed Income assets, meeting business performance targets

  • Optimise Fixed Income lending revenues against the relevant collateral mandates; Implementation of trading strategies and ideas related to inventory and collateral management

  • Build and enhance Counterparty relationships through proactive engagement. Seek and maximise profitable income streams by developing business relationships with market counterparts across Asia

  • Achieve Counterparty/Market revenue and balance targets

  • Keep up-to-date with Global and Asia market developments in the Fixed Income space, in order to develop and enhance HSBC’s product offering

  • Monitor progress against plan and propose amendments to meet changing market and business circumstances. Use of performance benchmarking tools

  • Taking personal accountability and ownership for the stakeholder experience; Improve client retention and satisfaction though delivery and enhanced revenues through lending products

  • Ensure that HSBC SSV develops and consistently maintains a premier quality reputation, internally and externally, for the Securities Lending aspects of its business. Support internal functions in the delivery of business priorities

Requirements

To be successful you will need

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

  • Knowledge of Securities Lending pricing methodologies – in particular, the drivers of demand for different Fixed Income strategies

  • Knowledge of counterparty profiles (broker-dealers, repo, financing desks), cash reinvestment and cash management

  • Knowledge of investor profiles and their investment strategies

  • Knowledge of Securities Lending systems, trade execution platforms and wider Custody Functions (eg. Income, Settlements, Corporate Actions)

  • Proficiency in excel is expected. Helpful to have knowledge of coding in VBA and/or other programming/statistical languages
