The GCIO COO function operates as the backbone of the GCIO organization, taking ownership and accountability for all operational aspects to ensure a seamless running of the GCIO business to exceptionally high standards. The Opportunity:
The incumbent will be part of the central Operational BAU Team and will partner with Business Managers within Data Tech to be accountable for business services in order to provide oversight and support for all Tech Strategic planning, project delivery, finance, operational risk and support activities to design, implement and manage efficient operational processes, act as independent challenge authority and provide direction to ensure targets are met, as well as provide data analytics and management reporting. At its core, the role will be part of the GCIO COO community to oversee the tracking of operational risk/issues/dependencies, assessing the impact on the benefit realisation for all operations and takes action to minimise impact, actively challenging and removing obstacles to enable Data Technology successful delivery of the committed technology deliverables.
What you’ll do:
• Support delivery of Data Strategy
• Oversight and Support of effective operations for aligned teams in core GCIO COO disciplines.
• Production of metrics and maintenance of programme risks and issues .
• Understand, manage and report on Direct Costs.
• Manage Accruals and Billing globally for various service types.
• Lead with implementing workforce strategy to support organizational goals and drive resource management operations to ensure successful execution of workforce plans.
• Ensure excellent quality of workforce data and alignment of data across relevant tools and systems.
• Lead with all Third-Party Engagement, SOWs and Contract, Cost Board Approvals, Invoices and PO's TPRM ensuring completion in a timely manner and managed accordingly.
• Manage and support Data Technology in portfolio delivery enablement as well as reporting of delivery.
What you will need to succeed in the role:
• Exposure to multiple global business and markets in HSBC.
• Self-driven, independent problem solver, good logical thinking and analytical thinking.
• Experience in large scale transformation.
• Track record of managing complex portfolio.
• Proven track record in Operational, Planning or Financial management role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical skill, a passion for metrics and figures, and the ability to get into the details, while also seeing and understanding the big picture.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment to deliver high quality results under tight schedule and high pressure.
• Experience of working on a global scale (i.e. across time zone & geography and with remote teams).
• Highly motivated and able to work independently, under pressure and proactively in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
• Positive, proactive and can-do attitude.
• Strong customer focus and commitment to delivery; Excellent problem solving and User support skills
• Familiarity with key tools including Pioneer, Discover, GPDM, Clarity, HIBS, Jira and Confluence.
• Ability to understand big picture while roll up the sleeves to get things done.
• Ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems.
