 The Technical Service Manager will work closely with CTO enablement Infrastructure department, middleware team in Shanghai, to ensure that CTO solutions are aligned with the bank's overall strategy, and that the market’s CTO needs are met. This will require an understanding and close interaction with regulators along with business stakeholders in the market. The CTO enablement Infrastructure department supports China IT open platform infrastructure in three local datacenters, providing end to end support not only on strong capability but also resilience to fulfill China business growth.

 

The Opportunity:

 The Technical Service Manager will be responsible for the effective running of CTO IT solutions in China. The function as an Infra SRE is the member of MCA dedicated support team following the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) model. It is the L2/L3 support on open platform (x86 physical devices, on-prem VMware infrastructure, file storage, block storage, object storage,backup storage and fabric) management. Team members should address incidents and resolve issues, while striving to improve monitoring and build automation.
This role will report functionally to the Head of core infrastructure team, and will work to ensure world class technology solutions that enable business success in our China entities. This will include ensuring direct and consumed services meet business and regulatory needs.  

 

The person in this role will be commercially astute, an excellent communicator and able to partner strongly with executive level IT and business stakeholders (network team, infra team, users, etc.) and regulators. They will work with business leaders to define technology strategies, create new solutions and drive a culture of continuous improvement. They will also be partnering with other COO and IT counterparts, at various executive levels of the organization including regional and in-country leadership (CEO, COO, CIO).

What you’ll do:

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other regional tech leads, the Head of Technology, and other senior stakeholders to ensure that technology solutions are aligned with the bank's overall strategy, and that the region's technology needs are met.
  • Innovation: Drive technology innovation and transformation in the region, ensuring that the bank is using the latest technologies to improve customer experiences and streamline operations.
  • Compliance: Ensure that technology solutions in the region are compliant with all relevant regulations, policies, and standards.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with technology vendors in the region, ensuring that they are delivering high-quality solutions and services that meet the bank's needs.
Requirements
  • To fulfill 30mins recovery regulatory requirement, the role is incident accountability.
  • Run the open platform by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system healthy.
  • Build tools and automation to manage platform infrastructure and services
  • Improve reliability, quality, and time to upgrade cluster and service versions
  • Ability to script in one or more shell languages, such as Bash or PowerShell
  • Experience with hardware/Virtualization/IKP, distributed storage technologies like SAN, NFS, S3, and Software Defined storage platforms
  • Measure and optimize system performance and resource utilization, and plan for future capacity
  • Can uild dashboards and visualizations to graph system health and define system alerts and automate responses where possible

 

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Ability to program (structured and OO) with one or more high level languages, such as Python or Go
  • Provide operational support and engineering for multiple software development teams
  • Work with the senior team members on driving the platform forward to align with the Banks resilience goals

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
