Team further provides advice and support across jurisdictions within Legal by providing financial management, prepare and review forecast and budget, handling financial queries from multiple stakeholders.
The Opportunity:
- The role holder is responsible for managing workforce across regions. In addition, the role holder will be responsible for assiting Group Legal in headcount annual planning, forecasting, cost control, MI and reporting. The role holder is responsible for supporting the Global Legal Operations team in delivering against these objectives, to leverage the central functions and best practice across the function and assisting Global Legal Operations in the development of controls.
- The role holder will be expected to develop a comprehensive understanding of Legal Hiring process, headcount management and financial impact where appropriate, provide advice and data to support the effective planning for the function.
What you’ll do:
- The Global BIRO\TPRO is responsible for understanding and managing risks relating to cyber and third parties along with overseeing the management of all relevant policies and processes collectively for Legal Infrastructure to ensure that proportionate and effective controls are established and maintained.
- The role holder will lead the BIRO capability in the execution of an effective cyber program for the function and will have oversight and coordination for the BIRO program as well as ensuring it is being deployed in a consistent manner globally.
- The role holder will also lead third party risk programs for Legal Infrastructure. This includes understanding the risks of the engagement portfolio, being an SME / escalation point for TPR issues, ensuring the right governance, reporting & MI is used to provide holistic oversight of engagements and remediation of any non-compliance.
- They may also work with other risk based activities in the COO function.
What you will need to succeed in the role:
- The Global BIRO\TPRO is responsible for directing and managing the cyber and TPM programmes and driving the embedding of bank risk framework activities within and throughout Legal Infrastructure function
- Support the implementation of First Line of Defence controls for Legal Infrastructure
- The Global BIRO\TPRO will be expected to:
- Establish and develop a strategy for the co-ordination and implementation of cyber and TPM initiatives across Legal Infrastructure BIRO and TPEM community that result in the sharing of best practices globally
- Autonomously identify and manage cyber and TPM risks that are specific to Legal Infrastructure, ensuring remediation plans or processes are in place for gaps / breaches / non-compliance
- Continuously and proactively monitor established controls for Legal Infrastructure
- Provide regular reporting to senior management
- Engage the management of Legal Infrastructure to ensure ownership and remediation of internal/external audit and regulatory requirements
- Represent Legal Infrastructure and actively participate in wider group forums and working groups
What additional skills will be good to have?
- Create and maintain a documented and detailed BIRO\DBIRO organisation structure within the Legal Infrastructure, overseeing the BIRO\DBIRO structure globally in order to avoid duplication, promote consistency, realise efficiencies and facilitate collaboration
- To continually reassess the non financial risks associated with the role and inherent risk in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructuring and the impact of new technology
- Keep abreast of industry-wide cyber and TPM developments and assess how these may impact the internal control environment. Maintain a sound understanding of best practice within peer institutions for consideration in HSBC’s model
