The Opportunity: 

Functional Accountabilities:

  • The purpose of the role is to provide effective Financial Management and Workforce Planning – whilst delivering comprehensive financial planning, monitoring and managing budget for GSC business lines. Provide oversight of Cost & FTE and collaborate effectively with Global, Regional and Country Finance teams

  • The incumbent will support the Global GSC Head to lead and drive the implementation of the location strategy and help the business in managing the GSCs deliverables and assisting in execution of the approved initiatives

  • To monitor the governance of Intra-Group Service Agreements, GSC Recharges & Billing processes and Cost Centre framework management to ensure financial transparency and control adherence

  • Oversee the management of delivery services by establishing appropriate benchmarks, KPIs, performance metrics and reporting elements while ensuring all capabilities are mapped to correct DS IDs

  • The individual will act as RM for non-client-related matters, including infrastructure, Regulatory Compliance, IT, and other functions ensuring alignment with Private Banking standards and to meet the strategic objectives work closely and collaborate with wider GSC stakeholders

  • The role holder will support the end-to-end execution of migration processes for all capabilities across GSCs, right-shoring programs and efficiency initiatives while ensuring alignment with business objectives, cost framework and regulatory requirements

  • Act as a primary point-of-contact for Regulatory adherence, Data Visa management, Audit preparedness and Operational Control Frameworks across GSCs

  • The role holder will be responsible for managing indirect costs, GSC recharges and billing processes with a strong understanding of journal entries and recharges mechanism

  • The incumbent needs to review, monitor and implement governance processes once the project phase is over for all new transitions, work with BRCM and Data Control for the entire scope of migrations management initiatives for GPB & WPS

  • Drive the Financial Resource Planning (FRP), cost forecasting, accruals and workforce planning for all offshore centres under GPB&WPS

  • Develop financial reports and metrics to represent YTD run rate and specific efficiency targets

  • Maintain discipline on Headcount Control (FTE tracking & analysis), Attritions Assumption, PBRR process, Span of Control, Cost and achieving agreed targets

  • Monitor performance and ensure service/performance level agreements are set correctly and honored from both Service Provider and Service Recipient

  • Oversee Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to ensure minimal business disruptions

  • Support the execution of location optimization and transition strategies to achieve cost effectiveness and align with overarching business objectives

  • Direct large scale migration projects thereby managing end-to-end planning, stakeholder engagement and execution with minimal operational disruptions

  • Lead complex cross-border business transitions, boundary change and Cost-to-Achieve programmes

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities: (e.g., for Business, Customers and Stakeholders; internal control environment, etc.)

  • The role demands a highly motivated, pro-active approach to business growth and requirement with excellent communication skills and keen attention to detail. Candidate should have extensive experience of the Private Banking domain and offshoring setup, be highly numerate and able to come up with solutions to unanticipated problems where required (ideally drawing on industry expertise and prior experience)

  • Sees the 'bigger picture' and assesses relationships between solutions / projects and business performance 

  • Project Management responsibility to streamline all PB Migration activities and regulatory adherence to cohesively align all business management activities

  • Ensure the GSCs are aligned to Group FIM and Local regulatory compliance in terms of services, operations and data transfer and classifications

  • Adherence to the global policies and standards within all projects, processes and outputs

  • Ability to manage multiple work-streams simultaneously, prioritizing personal and team workload

Leadership & Teamwork:

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leaders, HR, Legal, Compliance and other key stakeholders to understand business priorities and align workforce strategies accordingly

  • Advanced leadership, management, collaboration and coaching skills with experience of presenting sound and well-reasoned advice

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • At least 15+ years’ end to end business experience within Investment Banking domain

  • Proven ability to influence, engage and build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across global functions. Exceptional stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential to navigate complex organizational structures, drive strategic initiatives and deliver results as desired

  • Proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely and in simple language to support problem analysis

  • Strong experience in leading and coordinating governance papers and forums as well as related activities 

  • Strong experience leading strategy implementation for the multiple business lines

  • Strong experience in financial budgeting, strategic planning, communication, and people management processes

  • Proven capability and experience in independently managing and executing a diverse range of tasks

  • Excellent relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills

  • Strong understanding of HSBC structures, processes and objectives across the Group

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and unfamiliarity and able to bring clarity to requirements

  • The role holder will be expected to operate with discretion given the sensitive nature of some of the high priority programmes
