  • Wealth and Personal Banking is our new global business combining Retail Banking and Wealth Management; and Global Private Banking, to become one of the world’s largest global wealth managers with USD1.4 trillion in assets.   • WPB business team will leverage richer analytics-driven insights to enable a more personalized approach to targeting and engaging with consumers. From location-based offers to improved service delivery, WPB business will use spending patterns, product use, and channel interactions to enable improved experience-driven banking. WPB business to provide employees with contextual data for smarter consumer engagement and provide management with robust analytics (customer interaction, attrition, loyalty, cost analysis and transactional and behavioral analysis) for ongoing decision-making and also for mitigating regulatory risk. WPB analytics team provide support 30+ markets globally.

Global Business/Global Function - Sub-Function: Cyber-enabled Fraud

We are building a best-in-class global Cyber Fraud capabilities to work across priority markets as a key competitive differentiator for HSBC. This state-of-the-art capability focuses on leveraging the new fraud decision systems, cyber-intelligence platforms and open-source data by building advanced solutions and creating a depth of analytic expertise. WPB Fraud Analytics are responsible for the global engineering, industrialisation, and delivery of analytical products to help mitigate Fraud in all the countries HSBC operates in. This function works closely with key stakeholders including Global Cyber Security, Global Fraud Management, Digital and Markets with the intent of delivering enhanced control capabilities with focus on putting into practice the global strategic approach for cyber enabled fraud, supporting fraud analytics & modelling to enhance the control capability and managing the customer experience related to fraud.

What you’ll do:

  • The Full Stack developer job is responsible for developing products and solutions for Cyber Enabled Fraud team.
  • Identify and gather project-specific requirements and execute project specific development activities in accordance with applicable standards and quality parameters. Developing / Reviewing Code. Setting up the right environment for the projects.
  • Design and Review the Solution according to the team requirements, with strategic guidance from Leads and functional guidance from Cyber SME’s.
  • Collaborate across all organizations in HSBC to identify, deliver, and document the required artifacts to enable threat intelligence, automation and process improvements, including strategy, target state, technical roadmaps, position statements, concepts, and logical specifications.
  • Provide an understanding of cloud security and cloud infrastructure services, threat landscape and attack scenario’s, risks.
  • Be hands-on, directly interacting with the engineering and application development teams and provide leadership to drive alignment on security requirements, influence decision makers, build relationships, and communicate strategy and architecture to the broader internal community.
  • They will be required to continually enhance their skills within several specialisms in-line with industry and new tech stacks.
  • Possess significant breadth across other disciplines (e.g., compute services, storage, large-scale networking, virtualization, data center, integration architecture (API), orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, open stack), systems resiliency, service support, Secure application development lifecycle management (DevSecOps), and service delivery).
  • Demonstrate knowledge levels in all areas of application development including frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure, security and be able to influence and work collaboratively to guide the developers towards the desired target state.
  • Lead through influence, communicate effectively through clarity of thought and demonstrated understanding of business and technical requirements.

Management of Risk/Internal Controls/Compliance:

  • The jobholder will continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
  • The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.
  • The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term ‘compliance’ embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.
  • This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Minimum 12 years of hands-on experience in full-stack development & web-services development
  • PhD or Masters degree from reputed university in Computer application, Computer science technology or Engineering
  • Strong technical skills with in-depth knowledge and understanding of Application development, Technology framework, Solution architecture and Cloud services. Should have experience on managing large database.
  • Should have worked on requirements, design & develop - Event Driven and Near Real time data patterns - Ingress | Egress.
  • Exceptionally strong organizational, problem-solving & inter-personal skills. Ability to communicate clearly across all levels.
  • An Entrepreneurial spirit/drive to execute quickly in agile environment with simultaneous ability to navigate through organizational complexities.
  • Increasing responsibility architecting, positioning, and delivering cloud/internet facing applications.

Tools & technologies required:

  • Cloud technologies (agnostic of platforms: GCP, AWS, Azure, however, hands-on GCP would be preferred)
  • GCP – Data Flow, Big Table, Big Query etc.
  • Python and related frameworks Django, Flask, FastAPI, Bottle.
  • Databases: SQL, NoSQL, MongoDB, Postgres/MySQL, Elasticsearch.
  • Cloud infrastructure management – Configuring instances, scaling clusters, Securing instances, Firewall rules and networking.
  • REST API development and Security integration (OAuth2).
  • Version control, Git.
  • Agile delivery and management, Jira, Kanban, Sprints.
