  • The Credit Analysis Unit (CAU) is a global function which works closely with Relationship Bankers (RBs) to help them prepare credit proposals for their Wholesale borrowing names across the Corporate, FIG and Funds sectors. By closely managing the annual review workload and encouraging deep collaboration between CAU, RBs, Credit Risk, and Client Management, the Credit Analysis Unit maintains a flexible operating model ensuring new business transactions are consistently prioritized effectively to exploit revenue generation.

The Opportunity:

Role Purpose

  • This role entails the need to possess notable skills in communicating and engaging with multiple stakeholders across regions/teams, multitasking and effective time management. The successful candidate should be able to ensure that CAU cost targets are met based on FRP targets while driving and coordinating process improvements for CAU. Equally, a strong understanding of end-to-end credit processes, ability to articulate analytical views to the stakeholders and good knowledge of diverse systems, tools, new age digitization technologies, backed by an eye for detail. The capacity and the maturity to effectively engage and work with diverse project team members with a view to deliver required outcomes within agreed timelines is a vital component of this role.
  • This role will report to CAU (BCO) GSC Head.

What you’ll do: 

Key responsibilities:

  • Represent CAU in Global steercos and WG for strategic projects involving migrations, new initiatives or expansion of service catalogue.
  • Drive process improvement across operations and embed best practice learnings across global CAU sites.
  • Ensure cost targets are met based on Global CAU FRP targets. Ensure adherence to timelines for budget transfers including managing FRP / FTE transfers between Global operations and GSC CAU functions.
  • Responsible for providing technical leadership and SME support to design and deliver digital products involving Business Intelligence/ML/AI/Gen-AI to meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Coordinate with cross-function teams to deliver process efficiency, streamline and standardize to drive cost reduction.
  • Analyse and drive insights from data using Business Intelligence tools and reports, new age digitization tools, advanced calculations, and expressions for timely senior stakeholder updates.
  • Stakeholder Management: Actively engage with diverse stakeholders, manage day-to-day deliverables, contribute to strategic initiatives and support CAU Global Manco in implementing them.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Play the role of a solution-oriented SME with the aim of providing expertise in digitization systems, process, , and region-specific policies and procedures. Challenge the status- quo with a view to identify process improvements and digitization / automation opportunities..
  • Information Management: Provide support to ensure that all project related data is accurately and timeously updated for efficient and periodic generation of MI.
  • Risk and Control: Embrace a culture of compliance and manage elements of Operational Risk.
  • Resource Management: Support optimal utilisation of resources, including administrative and data-driven tasks, as required.

Impact on the Business

  • Stakeholder management is a key component of this role. The person should ensure that the key deliverables agreed with the stakeholders regarding the project related inputs, documentation etc. are met or exceeded. Gravitas of participating in senior steercos and global forums
  • Driving process simplification and standardization to achieve tangible efficiencies and synergies using new age digital technologies.
  • Define product roadmap for driving digitization of MIS reporting with the aim to create self-service value driven data insight dashboards.
  • Query handling and resolution of queries on a day-to-day basis with stakeholders.
  • Staying abreast of changes to the technical trends and best practices in the industry and across the bank, run proof-of-concepts and proof-of-value to identify opportunities to positively impact the objectives and key results for the team..
  • Should have customer-centric mindset - customer satisfaction scores.

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Maintain rapport with CAU Regional Heads, WMR and other key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate high standard of collaborative skills.
  • To comprehensively understand the expectations of stakeholders, set up achievable expectations and effectively managing and enhancing service delivery.
  • Maintain a repository of project related MI and produce periodic reports.
  • Being solution oriented to constantly guide the project teams to achieve breakthroughs to support process improvements and achieve efficiencies.

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Be a role model for the team.
  • Actively engage and closely work with senior management team to ensure CAU strategic projects are seamlessly implemented.
  • Sustain good communication with the CAU team members and with the wider organization across locations.
  • Sustain the motivation levels and support/ participate in the wider functional, GSC and CSR activities.

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • Manage all elements of Operational Risk which includes aspects related to GSC Compliance, Data Protection, Health and Safety and Audit requirements.
  • Foster a culture of compliance amongst the CAU team members as regards Group Compliance Policy.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant policies and procedures issued by the Group and contained within the Group Standards Manual and relevant Functional Instruction Manuals and Process Guidelines.
  • Suggest process improvements and sustainable saves that will contribute to overall effectiveness.

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:          

  • Strong technology orientation, process reengineering skills. Deployment Knowledge of new age digitization automation technologies.
  • Highly customer oriented and interested in providing top quality customer service.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; strong ability to portray a macro view and an eye for detail.
  • Strong fundamentals of finance, TM1
  • Fair knowledge of the domain and sectors. Candidate needs to have knowledge of credit systems and banking products.  
  • The ability and orientation to innovate and implement initiatives.
  • Minimum: Background with project management and technical delivery with hands on experience on automation, data analysis and insights will be an added advantage.
  • Candidate’s current/past profiles should have involved extensive interactions with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated analytical expertise and strong communication skills.
  • Hard-working, organized, diligent and above all a good team player.
  • Experience in working in an offshore organization and demonstrable ability to navigate and influence a diverse set of senior stakeholders.
