We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join this team in the role of “Quality Analyst - WPB KYC QA” In this role, you will

Impact on the Business/Function

  • Ensure the cases are audited in accordance with Independent Quality Assurance procedures and respective line of business procedures.
  • Be informed of all procedural changes and implement the required changes in the quality assurance process.
  • Identify, log, and discuss findings with QA management, Production QC teams as applicable.
  • Generate, coordinate the preparation of metrics on errors and feedback. Identify, analyze trends, and submit reports to QA Management.
  • Facilitate accreditation/certification process within QA.
  • Apply compliance and maintain HSBC internal control standards.

Typical Targets and Measures

  • Audit all items within agreed guidelines and timescales to the satisfaction of the customer/dept and minimize risk & cost to the bank.
  • Ensure root cause analysis is complete and procedures are reviewed/ implemented to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Analyze problems/issues ensuring appropriate actions/recommendations are implemented.
    Provide value services through customized feedbacks, maintenance of   data / trends.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge on the process and act as an SME for the process.

Customers / Stakeholders

  • To provide a high-quality service to internal and external customers.
  • Work in tandem with the Production teams to ensure timely completion of audits; prioritize workload to meet objectives of the WPB KYC QA, to ensure quality thresholds are met.
  • Actively coach Production teams during discussion of the draft findings captured, by deliver high-quality SME support to the team.
  • Contribute to the production of training materials to address trends and findings; and participate in the delivery of the training to the relevant production staff.

  • Understand and contribute to ensuring internal and external customer and business requirements are met
  • Ensure the agreed sampling of cases are audited in accordance with the standard operating procedures and respective line of business procedures are time feedback is recorded and reported.
  • Seek feedback and identify change where required, to continually improve and streamline the process.

  • Positive feedback from various stakeholders and colleagues.

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • Carry out the quality assurance process in accordance with standard operating procedures and respective line of business procedures.
  • All risks associated with the process are identified and controls are put in place to mitigate them. Learning points/feedback taken on board – no repeat issues
  • Provide support in maintenance of HSBC operational risk and internal standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators; adheres to local law compliance as well.

  • No breach of procedures noted.
  • BIRO guidelines adhered to e.g. Data Protection, Clear Desk policy
  • Escalate audit and compliance issues to the KYC management.
  • 100% completion of mandatory reading/ learning within timescales

Major Challenges

  • Ability to maintain strong control and governance structure within WPB KYC QA.
  • Achieving, and then maintaining competence – through retaining examples/demonstration of skills & knowledge against the required competency requirements
  • Job Holder should exhibit knowledge and expertise in the process. The jobholder needs to acquire an SME knowledge and understanding of various products related to customer account.
  • Job holder should have the ability to learn about new products, processes and systems quickly.

Role context

  • Work as part of the team and perform Quality Assurance audits in line with based on the standard sampling methodology defined within the WPB KYC QA function.
  • Represent WPB KYC QA Operations as a process expert
  • Liaise with production quality control teams for process updates and feedback delivery
  • Work with the Team Manager Quality Assurance on development and coaching needs for the operations teams.

Management of Risk (Operational Risk / FIM requirements)

  • The jobholder will also continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
  • This will be achieved by ensuring all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring.
  • Also, by addressing any areas of concern in conjunction with line management and/or the appropriate department.

Observation of Internal Controls

  • The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by internal and external regulators.
  • The jobholder will ensure that the rules relating to Data Protection are adhered to, with any breaches recorded and addressed appropriately.

Role Dimensions

  • Ensure all MIS is updated on a timely basis for reporting completion timelines and errors identified.
  • Successfully complete the accreditation/certification process and support the Team Manager in facilitating accreditation/certification process.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications 

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in an equivalent role (D)
  • Excellent communication skills – Written & Verbal (E)
  • Excellent prioritizing, planning, and organizing skills along with the ability to build and maintain MI (E)
  • Highly demonstrate customer centric approach and strong business acumen (E)
  • Good understanding of MS office and proven skills on banking platforms (E)
  • Good analytical, problem –solving and project management skills. (E)
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholder’s and provide resolutions to end customer within desired timelines. (D)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize them depending on the criticality of the tasks. (E)
  • Self-motivated and should be able to work under minimal supervision. (E)
  • Strong process knowledge i.e. AML/KYC/Risk. (D)
  • Knowledge of working in a regulatory environment (D)
  • Flexibility to work in different shift timings.
  • Prior Experience in AML/KYC/Risk. Processes (D)
  • Knowledge of AML/KYC/Risk. concepts (E)
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements & FIM
  • Minimum Qualification: Graduation (10+2+3)
