The Portfolio Manager will report directly to the Senior Portfolio Manager, the job holder is responsible of supporting the management of a number of equity and fixed-income portfolios. This includes trade idea generation, local and foreign, on-going portfolio analysis, monitoring and keeping up to date with local and international financial markets and responsible for the Research and Analysis on the local markets.
The role also involves supporting the Senior Portfolio Manager in reporting duties related to Portfolio Management services of the Funds being managed, including the preparation of documentation for investment fora.

In this role you will:
- Engage in regular discussions on asset allocation and security selection decisions, generate ideas through fundamental research in both equity and fixed income and provide recommendations to the Senior Portfolio Manager in managing portfolios
- Produce and update research and valuation models of companies and issuers listed on the Malta Stock Exchange and keep abreast of local and international financial markets
- Attend stockbrokers’ meetings and other types of corporate events
- Support in the preparation of the documentation for investment committees/forums and board of directors’ meetings, and other governance documentation as required
- Liaise with internal stakeholders including Custody, Fund Admin, and operations office to ensure the smooth running of the business on a daily basis
- Perform portfolio administration responsibilities for the HSBC Malta SICAV plc and DPM portfolios
You should apply if you have:
- Previous years of experience in a senior research analyst, with a demonstrable strong ability to research, analyse and evaluate financial statements, economic and market data
- Strong degree of embedded investment risk awareness
- Substantial technical knowledge of financial markets and familiar with Bloomberg
- Strong presentation and report-writing skills
- Self-motivation with the ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
