Your career opportunity
The purpose of this role is to support the execution of the global strategic change agenda. Strategic Change Managers will collaborate with the Business to understand the need and nature of change, leveraging opportunities and managing industry challenges. Role holders will assist in guiding the business towards well-reasoned decisions regarding strategic, organisational, operational, and technological investments. They will work alongside the Global Infrastructure Teams and external vendors to help create, shape, deliver, and embed sustainable change within the business. They should have experience in contributing to the shaping and execution of a global business strategic change agenda. The role holder needs to be an energetic and ambitious change agent who will support the scoping and delivery of global strategic change projects. They are expected to work closely with business senior management, identifying opportunities, constructively challenging conventional thinking, and ensuring the Voice of the Customer is considered in projects. Role holders should be familiar with various facets of the change process, including assisting in the creation of business cases, programme initiation, designing approaches and plans, defining business architecture, project management, business analysis, readiness, and implementation needs. They should stay informed about emerging technology and innovation to help solve challenges and improve the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the Bank's proposition and customer and colleague experience. They will contribute to the timely and high-quality delivery of programmes, adhering to HSBC core frameworks (Change Framework, Agile). They will assist in managing programme costs, headcount, risks, and issues, working to ensure benefits and values are realised.
What you’ll do
• Develop and propose solutions or business models, gaining support for implementation strategies.• Evaluate current solutions and operating models to identify gaps and opportunities for transitioning to improved models.• Support the management of change initiatives and ensure the realization of benefits.• Guide junior colleagues to effectively implement changes.• Engage with management and stakeholders to secure agreement on program plans, including requirements, quality assurance, budget, schedule, scope, risk management, and contingency plans.• Collaborate with stakeholders and business partners to build strong relationships, ensuring alignment and supporting change initiatives. Encourage open communication to meet stakeholder expectations.• Work with management across various departments (Compliance, Audit, Finance, HR, etc.) to question existing practices and explore new ideas.• Act as a Line Manager to junior team member involved in the programme/project.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
• Understanding of Innovation within the industry & experience working with Fintech companies to solve business problems• Knowledge of the external environment – regulatory, political, competitors etc.• Understanding of HSBC Group structures, values, behaviours, processes and objectives• A broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance• Understanding of bank’s business model – i.e. the customer proposition, the channels and operations, and the key financial performance drivers• Practical knowledge of business change – functionally, operationally and financially• Financial and commercial acumen and the ability to understand and contribute to business cases. Includes ability to understand complex business problems and apply a strong commercial sense.• Experience of management and control of multiple complex projects/business transformation which have ambitious goals and high change requirements
