HSBC Life Assurance (Malta) Ltd is seeking to recruit an Actuarial Analyst to join our Actuarial Function. The role sits within the Actuarial Function reporting to the Senior Actuarial Analyst, providing a wide range of actuarial services.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual embarking on an actuarial career, looking to get exposure to all aspects of actuarial work including but not limited to, Solvency II and IFRS17 reporting, assumption setting and profitability analysis, actuarial modelling and pricing.


Main responsibilities

• Support the production of quarterly Solvency II and IFRS17 valuations including data preparation, model runs, results production, sensitivity testing and movement analysis
• Support the team in the production of management information
• Assist in maintaining and developing the Solvency II models including Prophet and Excel spreadsheets
• Support the team in the production of profitability analysis and pricing activities
• Support the team in the assumption setting process, financial planning and stress testing exercises


You should apply if you have: 

• University graduate in Actuarial Science, Risk Management or related discipline
• Good progress with the actuarial exams (IFoA or equivalent)
• Excellent computer skills including Excel. 
• Ability to multi-task, organize, think innovatively and solve problems
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Knowledge of VBA and any statistical software is advantageous
