We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Analyst, Asian Industrials and Utilities.

Principal Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a high-calibre professional to join the Active Equity Research team specialising in Asian Industrials and Utilities.  The role is Hong Kong-based and supports stakeholders across our Active Equity Investment platform which includes Chinese, Regional Asia, Global Emerging markets and Global Thematic strategies.

  • Conduct in-depth analysis and research of the Asian Industrials and Utilities sectors, identifying key trends, opportunities, and risks. Develop insightful reports and presentations to support investment decisions
  • Generate and present well-founded investment ideas to portfolio managers, supported by rigorous analysis and research. Track and evaluate the performance of investment recommendations
  • Assist in any equity related queries from any client accounts and participate in client liaison and marketing work as required
  • Foster and develop a professional and collegial working relationship with the related investment teams
  • Work effectively within the team-based analyst framework
Requisitos
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in equity research or a related field
  • Demonstrated proficiency in financial modelling, valuation techniques together with strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required for this role
  • In-depth understanding of the Asian, particularly Chinese Industrials and Utilities sectors, including key drivers, competitive landscape, and regulatory environment. Experience in covering these sectors is essential
  • Work closely with portfolio managers, analysts, and other team members globally, across the HSBC Active Equity platform to share insights and contribute to the overall investment debate. Participate in team meetings providing input and expertise where appropriate
  • Demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to identifying suitable investment opportunities for multiple portfolio management teams across the Active Equity platform.
  • Given the large proportion of Chinese Industrial and Utilities companies in the Asian investment universe, fluency in Mandarin is a requirement.
  • Sell-side experience is an advantage for this role
