We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

The Assistant Data Governance Manager role is based HBCN DAO team. The main purpose of this position is to support to manage and oversight Data Privacy and Data Storage risk and controls, and other DAO team control related work.

In this role, you will: 

  • Assist on the development, review and update of the Data Privacy and Data Storage procedures.
  • Assist on providing guidance to WPB to conduct Data Privacy and Data Storage risk continuous monitoring according to group control requirements and local regulatory.
  • Assist on continually assess and identify risks against Regulatory Requirements, in line with the HSBC risk management approach, ensuring they are mitigated.
  • Assist on personal information protection annual assessment, provide SME support to WPB to mitigate the issues identified.
  • Assist to cascade and oversight WPB to embed Global/ASP Data Privacy related projects/initiatives/control requirements; as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Assist to escalate local WPB challenges to Global/ASP/Entity when embedding Global control, Entity and regulatory requirements.
  • Support DAO team 3rd party management activities, support TPWG coordination work, to conduct regular outsourcing performance review, annual outsourcing checklist activities, etc.
  • Act as DAO team BCP coordinator.
  • Support other DAO control related management work.
Requisitos

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Knowledge of industry leading data governance, data protection/security and data privacy management practices.
  • Knowledge of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues
  • Ability to maintain composure and drive right outcomes under high profile business scrutiny, incorporating change management.
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail combined with a strong delivery focus and ability to meet aggressive timeframes with quality results.
  • Excellent planning, organising and commercial skills including strong financial management capability with tenacity to drive through results.
  • Strong relationship management capabilities, with great influencing skills and gravitas
  • Highly effective negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and self-managed. Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy combined with a decisive collaborative nature.
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Balance approach to risk management including techniques to mitigate risk.
  • Ability to interact and build relationship with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Operates well across cultures and in multicultural diverse work environments.
  • English speaking is a must due to the high need of interaction with Global/ASP teams.

  • Relevant degree or post graduate qualification
