Operations Shared Services (OSS) drives operations' performance standards, service excellence, and consistency across the Group and our Global Service Centres (GSCs). This central team oversees areas such as business intelligence, cost management, reporting, billing and regulatory compliance. In addition, through its GSC Capabilities team, they are responsible for enterprise-wide workforce management, location strategy, future skills, and group common services (AI, automation, and other strategic initiatives).

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Assistant Manager Protective Security Operations.

Principal Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Covering rostered or dedicated shift, the Assistant Manager will supervise the operations of the HSBC Security Operations Centre (SOC) and support our branch network within Hong Kong, including security system, operation process review, security people leadership, objective setting and performance management (about 30 internal reports), budgeting and third-party management
  • Supervise and coordinate security monitoring for 400+ assets across Hong Kong (this includes access, intrusion and duress alarms, video surveillance and other emergency systems.)
  • Coordinate the first response to security incidents and other emergencies across all HSBC assets including coordination with the Police and other emergency services
  • Direct, coach, mentor and develop SOC and Security Response Team members through training, exposure and experiential learning. Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives as well as support the delivery of operational efficiency, technological advancement, streamline processing
  • Develop and maintain security operating procedures and post-orders for the SOC and Security Response Teams consistent with required global standards and local regulatory requirements
  • Undertake continuous control monitoring at the SOC and team level, identifying, escalating and remediating issues and incidents appropriately and proactively. Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with HSBC businesses, teams and support providers to achieve security and other required outcomes
  • Liaise with local law enforcement, government agencies and external service providers to monitor risk and coordinate activities. Contribute to protective security strategy development, business planning, governance, budgeting and cost control as part of the extended PS management team
  • Act as delegate for the PS Operations Manager (SOC and Network) when required. Provide support to other PS teams, sites and events as required
Requisitos

To be successful you will need:

  • Operations experience including security and incident response. Experience in leading small teams in an operational setting
  • F.7 graduate as a minimum
  • Demonstrated knowledge in areas such as physical security, emergency management, basic risk management, safety, business resilience, third party management. Detail oriented, flexible and self-motivated
  • Operates with a “team-first” mentality, with experience in a mission-critical, team-dependent environment. Ability to communicate and collaborate on operational issues with a range of stakeholders, customers, agencies and the public
  • Sound judgement and ability to make operational decisions consistent with established procedures and the local risk context
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with high ethical standards. Ability to review processes, identify gaps or inefficiencies and then deliver improvement actions. Ability to apply technology-based tools and data to deliver operational services
  • Understanding of the concepts of security threat, risk, vulnerability and controls, and the ability to apply it to the delivery of security services
  • Good English and Cantonese language skills both written and verbal. Basic proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • A current Hong Kong Security Permit or the ability to quickly acquire one. Be available to respond to emergencies on a 24/7 basis (subject to reasonable working conditions and relevant rosters)
