We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President - Non Financial Risk

Principal responsibilities

  • The role of the NFR (Non Financial Risk) officer, primarily South Asia coverage and support, is to help facilitate the business in the effective design of the control framework, identification and management of the NFR risks and to ensure its ongoing operating effectiveness within an agreed risk appetite. 
  • As a NFR team member supporting the NFR lead, key accountabilities include:
  • Conduct Risk and Front Office Supervision
  • Controls - Own the control framework and agenda, specifically:
  • review/approve new policies and standards for and on behalf of the region
  • ensure effective remediation actions in place for key issues for the region and ensure/track mitigation
  • Ensure the regional execution of Front to back reviews, thematic reviews and other remediation/assurance work as required and monitor actions to ensure effective closure in a timely manner
  • Governance Forums - Ensure that the agenda / contents of the NFR Committee and other forums as required is ‘fit for purpose’ so that key control issues and emerging risks are appropriately discussed and addressed. - act as secretary deputy to the meeting, ensure pack is produced, set the agenda and drive the focus on key control issues and emerging risks
  • Drive the RCA (Risk and Control Assessment) and other targeted risk and control effectiveness assessments for the business and ensure dynamic review of NFR risks.
  • Escalation Point - Act as a point of escalation for stake holders with respect to internal control issues and act as a Deputy to the South Asia MSS(Market Security Services) NFR Lead
  • Implement and Oversee Policies & Processes to mitigate the business' top risks and Regulatory obligations.
  • Audit & Second Line of Defense:   Act as contact point for Audit & other independent functions in the second line of defense that conduct periodic surveillance and control reviews.
Requisitos
  • Degree holder, preferably with a professional qualification, with strong knowledge of internal control and risk management in markets 
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and project management skills to enhance procedures and controls
  • Good knowledge of global markets & securities products and services in a global setting
  • Experience of risk and controls through prior experience ‘Business management, Control Office, product control or traded risk experience’
  • Ability to interact with a wide range of people, of different levels of seniority and from different cultures
  • Good interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at multiple levels across the business
  • Can do’ attitude with a willingness to roll-up the sleeves in order to get things done;
  • Manages to balance structure & best practice versus pragmatism;
  • Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and
  • procedures that apply to the conduct of the business activities associated with the role, specifically HSBC Bank
  • plc internal controls and compliance policies and manuals.
