Business: CTO Data Technology
Principal responsibilities:
• Champion the seamless integration of applications into DATaP objectives, maintaining an unwavering focus on market trends, customer needs, and sustainable business growth.
• Align and drive both Run the Bank and Change the Bank initiatives in perfect harmony with strategic business goals.
• Architect, implement, and troubleshoot sophisticated technical solutions for customer data projects within the Hong Kong market.
• Enforce robust data governance policies, ensuring the highest standards of data quality and integrity.
• Demonstrate mastery of Agile methodologies, including the Scrum framework and SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework), to accelerate project delivery.
• Proactively identify and capitalize on automation opportunities in coding, testing, and operational workflows.
• Articulate complex data concepts with clarity and precision to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing.
• Foster effective collaboration with stakeholders and cross-functional teams, leveraging exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Exhibit exemplary organizational and time management abilities, adeptly handling multiple concurrent projects.
Technical Skills:
• Demonstrated expertise in Mainframe technologies (MVS, z/OS, CICS, JCL, DB2, COBOL) complemented by proficiency in modern open technologies (MongoDB, Java, APIs, cloud platforms).
• Advanced capabilities in designing hybrid solutions that seamlessly integrate legacy systems with contemporary frameworks.
• Deep understanding of system performance tuning, debugging, and optimization across both Mainframe and open system environments.
• Analytical acumen and critical thinking skills to interpret complex datasets and translate insights into actionable technical solutions.
• Skilled in leveraging automation tools to streamline and enhance manual processes.
• Proven ability to bridge the gap between legacy Mainframe infrastructures and API-driven, modern architectures.
Communication and Soft Skills:
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, adept at conveying intricate data concepts to varied audiences.
• Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
• Superior organizational and time management skills, ensuring the successful delivery of multiple projects simultaneously.
Functional Knowledge:
• Outstanding understanding of HSBC Group structures, values, behaviours, processes, and strategic objectives.
• Proven track record in managing technology infrastructure within large, complex operational environments, utilizing key methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma and Agile to drive client-focused performance.
• Demonstrated success in designing and implementing large-scale, complex global and regional change initiatives.
• Extensive experience with front-line, customer-facing IT systems and platforms.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently and effectively at all organizational levels and across business functions.
• In-depth knowledge of the evolving regulatory landscape, particularly within the financial services sector.
