We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director Delivery Management Specialist.

Principal responsibilities

In this role you are responsible for leading the delivery of specific outcomes that could take the form of projects and / or continuously evolving backlogs of work. In either scenario the responsibilities will include elements of planning, budget building and financial tracking, demand management, customer and stakeholder management through governance and communications etc. 

You will work closely with Foundations IT management, architecture, pod Technical Lead(s), Product Owners and Change / Transformation project managers for the successful delivery of agreed deliveries.  

A Delivery Lead can also take on additional, cross departmental responsibilities acting as a ‘champion’ for a specific topic or discipline. For this advertised role it will include the responsibility for being an ‘Operational Excellence Champion’. Responsibilities will include, supporting the Foundations IT department to maintain high standards in time management, training, resourcing, location strategy and financial management and reporting. The champion will work closely with senior department management to ensure key metrics and measures related to Operational Excellence are met. 

Planning
• Identifies all relevant stakeholders (e.g. business, transformation / change and IT) and dependent parties (e.g. VS IT team) and maintains effective relationships with them
• Understands the VS / stakeholder strategy to enable proactive management of the delivery demand and be an active contributor to the delivery strategy
• Faces off to the Stakeholders (VS Transformation / Change, central Change and other IT teams) to agree and manage the pipeline of demand
• Has a basic working knowledge of the relevant Foundations IT platforms (e.g. FCDP, FDPP, RADAR, GRR, DRR, CDW etc.) and is familiar with the high-level VS Strategies to enable informed decision making
• Close working relationship with the relevant VS delivery technical lead, to share the VS strategy and pipeline of demand to help define and agree shape and size of the pod
• Supports the relevant Portfolio Lead, Foundations IT Head of Programmes, and relevant VS leads both in IT and Finance Change (FCD) in defining strategy, prioritization, budgets etc. 
• Proactively communicates and educates technology colleagues on the VS objectives and goals
•  Active contributor to IT planning and VS planning to plan delivery priorities as required to meet VS delivery needs.
•  In collaboration with VS technical leads, agrees the available capacity for a delivery period, communicates this capacity to required parties, fields questions on available capacity
•  Owns the relevant delivery plan(s)
•  Contributes to the overall relevant portfolio and wider Foundations IT delivery planning

Delivery
• Responsible for maintaining an ongoing relationship with the demand requestors - customers / stakeholders
•  In collaboration with stakeholders, and VS IT counterparts responsible for ensuring there is a maintained and prioritized backlog of demand for delivery of adequate quality
•  Where required raises and escalates issues with the quality, timing or other issues relating to the requirements raised that may impact the effectiveness of delivery
•  Responsible for preparation and ownership of delivery reporting and artefacts in line with agreed delivery governance framework e.g. Clarity, NEXO, Spotlight
•  Organise and lead VS status and working meetings
•  Meets agreed reporting requirements, providing timely updates on portfolio delivery status, financials and any other agreed reporting needs
•  Setup and maintain a suitable repository(s) for control of project artefacts
•  Accountable for the maintenance of project artefacts, ensuring they are always reflective of the project
•  Proactive communication of project progress, ensuring stakeholders are suitably informed
•  Responsible for VS financial tracking and reporting (monthly) – forecast / actuals (supported by Finance Data PMO)
•  Proactively manages RAIDs (in collaboration with Technical Lead and dependent parties) to minimize impact to delivery and ensure required stakeholders are involved as required
•  Engages in the Finance Change owned Change Request process as required to reflect any required changes in planned delivery 
•  Participation in required governance meetings to represent area of responsibility for the VS (e.g. Triage, Change Control meetings, planning events, control towers)
•  Timely escalation to the Portfolio Lead as and when required to enable effective issue management
•  Engages and supports the associated delivery pod(s), holding them to account for committed delivery, motivating and supporting through the removal of roadblocks as required
•  Supports the relevant Portfolio Lead (or other parties) from time to time with information requests as required e.g. Audit requests, Financial challenges

Operational Excellence
•  Monitor and maintain key metrics associated with Operational Excellence (e.g. Time Reporting, Training, Resourcing, Financials)
•  Support and participate in various forums to provide updates on operational related matters
•  Provide support and guidance to Delivery Team members and senior management on operational matters

Requisitos
  • Experience in working in project / delivery management at a senior level, ideally in an Agile environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of 'hands on' managing programmes / projects including the engagement with engineering teams, building and owning project plans, budgets, risks, and issuesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills, needed to manage demand versus capacity, prioritisation, issue resolution and escalation etc.
  • Ability to clearly articulate delivery status and outlook appropriate to the audience for the reporting / artefacts.Be able to facilitate all aspects of delivery and become a recognized go to single point of contact for your scope of delivery.
  • Build and manage relationships within technology, change delivery and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent numerical skills, managing budgets, resource plans etc and able to produce clear and concise management information tailored to the target audience.
