The opportunity: Associate Director, Liquidity Commercialisation, Global Payments Solutions

The role of the Liquidity Commercialisation Manager is to be responsible for maximising the value of clients’ liquidity by offering effective and efficient liquidity solutions and enhancing HSBC’s market share profile regionally and globally. The role is focused on domestic (Netherlands) and regionally (Europe) integrated liquidity and investment solutions, which requires close collaboration with other Liquidity team members and across Global Payments Solutions (GPS) to ensure consistent and comprehensive positioning of our approach in the market.

What you will do: 

Be responsible for providing the right liquidity management solutions to clients across Corporate and Institutional sector with a predominantly market and client facing focus. The role demands a proactive and continuous engagement with key clients and client-facing functions in an advisory capacity across a range of liquidity topics. As a thought leader, the role holder will be required to represent GPS and HSBC in external public forums, media, and events on such topics.

The role reports to the Global head of Liquidity Commercialisation and is based in the Netherlands, supporting engagements in the Europe region. Some travel is expected.  

 In this role you will:
 
• Meet Corporate and Institutional clients to help provide the right solutions to meet their liquidity management objectives. For example, bring efficiencies into their working capital management
• Support Netherlands domestic and European regional deals involving liquidity and investment products (RFPs, client prospecting, expanding solution set of existing clients)
• Provide inputs to GPS Sales on market and industry best practices and support client solution development, validation, positioning and implementation
• Drive thought leadership on topics and themes which are top of mind of Corporate Treasurers and CFOs, ranging from ‘here & now’ issues to forward-looking subjects in the industry, with a focus on Liquidity
• Run initiatives to commercialise the Liquidity management product suite. This includes participation in industry events, partnering with GPS Sales and Marketing teams for client events, webinars
• Drive corridor collaboration across regions to identify client opportunities working closely with key stakeholders
• Identify and translate Netherlands and Europe opportunities into new business revenues for the Bank. This includes deal pipeline management, analysis of client portfolios across segments to identify opportunities, close collaboration with GPS Sales and RM stakeholders
• Design & deliver globally consistent training programs, covering Liquidity related themes & topics, enabling frontline teams in their strategic conversations with their clients and stakeholders
• Promote the profile of HSBC as a leading liquidity management specialist through media and marketing initiatives
 
You should apply if you have: 

• Extensive of experience of Cash management in a bank working with corporate clients on complex Liquidity management solutions
• Relevant product knowledge including solid expertise in cash management and specifically exposure to liquidity management (cash pooling) and investment products (deposits, money market funds)
• Track record in thought leadership on topics and themes which are top of mind of stakeholders, from CFO/CEO in the organisation, banking and payments partners, treasury technology providers.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
• Built effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same 
• Experience of building and managing complex relationships with significant customers
