Global Sustainability oversees HSBC’s global philanthropic programmes as philanthropy forms an integral component of the Bank’s approach to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Associate Director, Sustainability, Asia Pacific.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Plan and supervise the implementation of all philanthropic projects in Hong Kong supported by the Hongkong Bank Foundation in collaboration with charity partners, to maximise the impact of the Foundation’s work and to ensure that the projects are evaluated, reported and communicated as appropriate
  • Identify, engage and onboard suitable charity partners according to the funding strategy of the Foundation, in consultation with the Foundation’s advisory committee and its trustee, and in strict adherence to the Global Sustainability Philanthropy Manual, promoting long-term partnership with charity partners and ensuring risks and opportunities are managed
  • Promote and operationalise employee participation in community services through the HSBC Volunteering Scheme, in coordination with the Bank’s senior leaders, volunteer leads, employee groups and various lines of business
  • Lead and participate strategically in cross-functional stakeholder engagements, such as those related to communication initiatives, delivery of key events (such as the annual HSBC Hong Kong Community Festival, and the HSBC Volunteer Appreciation Dinner) in liaison with internal and external partners, as well as forums and conferences led by community stakeholders
  • Support the Global Philanthropy team on global and regional initiatives, and provide subject matter expertise to other HSBC offices as required, in support of HSBC’s global strategic priorities on Philanthropy
Requisitos
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in a complex and dynamic commercial organisation. The ability to prioritise, multitask, manage risk, and adapt to changing business needs will be essential
  • Domain knowledge related to corporate philanthropy and a focus area of HSBC’s philanthropy strategy
  • Excellent communications skills in both English and Chinese (Cantonese), and experience in strategic stakeholder engagement a plus
  • A self-driven individual with a passion in making a positive change for the team and the wider community
