Corporate Communications

Hang Seng’s Corporate Communications Department formulates and executes compelling communications programmes that promote the Bank’s corporate image, products and services. It monitors public opinions about the Bank and ensures important messages are conveyed in a timely and effective manner, both internally and externally. The Department also helps safeguard Hang Seng’s brand and position as the leading domestic bank in Hong Kong by advising on reputational matters and strengthening relationships with its stakeholders.

The Business Communications function plans and implements strategic initiatives supporting the Banks business growth plan. Working very closely with business heads, in particular Retail, Wholesale, Hang Seng Index, Hang Seng Insurance, Hang Seng Investment Company, the team proactively plans and executes communication initiatives to promote the Banks business, products and services, and to manage the Banks reputation. The team also builds thought leadership and establish amicable relationship with various external stakeholders, leverage multiple channels including but not limited to traditional media, social media, external speaking opportunities and other events. The team also manages reputational issues for the Bank.

Reporting to the Senior Business Communications Manager, the Business Communications Manager is responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of the Bank's business communications strategy, focusing on the Retail and/or Wholesale businesses, aligning with the overall business growth plan. This role will focus on integrated communications, content creation, executive profiling, and reputational management to ensure effective and consistent messaging across all channels. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in leading strategic communications initiatives within a complex financial institution.

Key Responsibilities

Integrated Communications and Campaign Management:

  • Plan and execute creative and integrated communications campaigns, events and initiatives that strategically and effectively support the Bank’s business needs, support customer and business growth, and engage and inspire the Bank’s key external stakeholders.
  • Develop engaging content for various channels, including media, YouTube, LinkedIn to promote the Bank’s business and products. 

Strategic and Effective Content Creation:

  • Develop key message, creative and compelling stories to support the Bank’s business growth and development across various platforms, including media pitching, social media (LinkedIn, YouTube etc.).
  • Create engaging and impactful content for LinkedIn and YouTube, including videos, articles, and other formats, aligned with the Bank’s business needs.  

Executive Profiling:

  • Drive executive profiling and build thought leadership for the Bank’s senior business executives.

Corporate Announcements:

  • Support all corporate announcements including results announcements, production of annual report, and support AGM messaging. 

Media Relations:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with business media across local, mainland and international markets.
  • Proactively generate positive media coverage through events, press releases, and targeted outreach. 

Reputational and Issues Management:

  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential reputational risks in collaboration with all business units.
  • Ensure compliance of all ESG communications materials with relevant regulations and guidelines.
Requisitos
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Corporate Communications, preferably in banking and in a sizable organization
  • Strong media relations especially with business and finance media in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area. 
  • An innovative communicator. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese, with a proven ability to develop compelling and impactful content
  • Strong understanding of the banking industry and its regulatory landscape.
  • Experience in crisis and issues management, including identifying and mitigating reputational risks, developing crisis communication plans, and responding effectively to crisis situations. 
  • Proficient in content creation and storytelling on social media platforms, including YouTube and LinkedIn.
  • Good design and art sense.
