Job description

The HSBC Broker CIO is accountable to Group Insurance CIO (or nominated delegate) for HSBC Broker business relationships, execution of global and market strategy, and management/oversight of all local execution, change portfolio and technology service within the entity.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

In this role, you will:

·         Responsible to Global Insurance CIO for providing in-country IT leadership and co-ordination for all Technology Services and INBB business relationships; managing resources from multiple Technology disciplines. There are local activities that might not be belong to specific GB/GF e.g. regulatory enhancement which still need the co-ordination of HSBC Broker CIO

·         Responsible for providing IT management and oversight of all local execution and change portfolio for HSBC Broker initiatives. Drive market specific initiatives to uplift platform digitization, delivery efficiency & control improvements. Drive the simplification agenda to provide the right set of technology capabilities & capacities

·         Possess sound understanding of business purpose and operation model. Can identify and opine on key IT needs to support each of the steps and future growth. Responsible for implementing effective solution design and manage all IT assets, hardware architecture, and network architecture

·         Responsible for governance and control for HSBC Broker IT. Ensure compliance and commitments are fulfilled for all IT-related parts of Chinese regulatory requirements.

·         Responsible for ensuring that all country demand is clearly articulated within global portfolios and for ensuring that relevant information is captured to enable local demand to be prioritized at the global level.

·         Responsible for locally owned application service management including effective problem management and change governance to ensure quality of service

·         Responsible for local execution of IT delivery and operational resilience in HSBC Broker.

·         Responsible for direct cost, headcount management and annual planning HSBC Broker Technology.

·         Responsible for all people change related to restructuring within HSBC Broker including relationship and alignment with local HR and industrial relations

·         Establish & maintain relationships with key technology partners and vendors in the insurance industry; and to keep up to date on industry and technology trends

·         Responsible to maintain relevant government, regulatory and Board relationships

·         Responsible for managing the relevant Engineering Teams for application development, remediation, and service management for all non GB/GF CIO owned solutions/services in country (more common in small countries).

Requisitos

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

Functional Knowledge

·         Proven industry experience of running an IT team including processes, technologies, challenges, strategy

·         Expertise in Strategy, Business Planning, Governance and Stakeholder Management

·         Knowledge of Insurance and Fund Sales technology and the ability to provide technology advise to senior business heads

·         Experience in planning and managing significant expenditure in a complex organisation

·         This role will require detailed understanding of all business areas across the insurance industry and relevant technology domains

·         The role will be responsible for developing thought leadership and best practice, including engagement with vendors / third parties

Skills & Experience

·         Proven experience as a CIO role in an insurance, banking or financial services organization.

·         Solid knowledge on insurance business & technical domains

·         Significant experience working in the insurance & fund sales domains in China

·         Strong technical knowledge of relevant technologies and DevOps ways of working.

·         Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve their goals.

·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

·         Ability to analyze complex technical and business problems and develop effective solutions.

·         Able to manage a variety of senior stakeholder relationships and develop a trusting working relationships.

·         Demonstrable success in understanding and delivering towards customer needs in large, global, complex organisations.

·         Ability to work in an unstructured and changing environment.

·        Be fluent in both English and Mandarin
