We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.
Business: CTO Infrastructure
Principal responsibilities
- Manage and support mainframe storage systems, including DASD, Tape, and Virtual storage solutions.
- Monitor storage performance and capacity, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
- Implement and maintain data backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Collaborate with application teams to optimize storage allocation and performance for various workloads.
- Perform storage provisioning, configuration, and maintenance tasks in accordance with best practices.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to storage configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Assist in capacity planning and forecasting to meet future storage needs.
- Participate in on-call support rotation and respond to incidents as needed.
- Disaster Recovery planning and execution.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in storage technologies.
- Provide training and support to junior team members as needed.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mainframe storage management and support.
- Strong knowledge of mainframe storage technologies, including IBM DS8000, IBM TS7700, and other relevant systems.
- Familiarity with storage management tools and software (e.g., IBM DFSMS, CA Disk, etc.).
- Proficient in problem-solving and troubleshooting complex storage issues.
- Have knowledge of IBM and CA Products and be able to work independently.
Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
