We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of: 

Compliance Advisor & Risk Manager

Rol Purpose

Compliance Advisor & Risk Manager roles are accountable for ensuring adequate controls are in place to manage regulatory compliance risk. They provide subject matter expertise in International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB) for the purpose of setting policy, providing guidance and advising the businesses and functions on managing regulatory compliance risk. This ensures HSBC's compliance to both global and local laws, rules and regulations relating to compliance and risk management.

Main activities

  • Apply risk management and compliance processes in a back- office environment by identifying controls, assessing their their effectiveness and reviewing risk mitigation plans, with a focus on the areas of Asset Management, Insurance, Investment and Wealth Manangement.

  • Act as part of the second line of defense, providing oversight, monitoring and guidance on risk management and compliance frameworks across back-office operations and act as initial point of escalation for team members

  • Support decisions through advice, counsel or services in area of specialisation

  • Directly influence the operational effectiveness of the functional/functional unit

  • Co-ordinate projects; typically working on large, moderately complex projects/assignments

  • Leadership responsibility for a team.

  • Accountable for delivery against prescribed targets, budgets and resourcing and responsible for volume, quality, and timeliness of end results.

  • Adhere to and actively support established policies and procedures in own team.

  • Support change initiatives and embed change initiatives within own team

  • Knowledge in Banking US regulations (desirable)

 
Requisitos

Qualifications

  • Knowledge in Wealth and Personal Banking, Asset Management, Insurance, Broker house, investment funds. 

  • 3-5 years of experience | At least 1 year of experience in regulatory compliance

  • Advanced English

  • Risk steward & regulatory compliance experience

  • Stakeholder Management

  • Communication Skills | Critical thinking | Time management

  • Academic background on Administration, Law, Engineer, Accounting.
